If you are a part of a local business or church, we would love to talk to you about food drives!! As we head into the winter, The Mission Co team is working hard to be sure our storehouse stays packed, our families are fed and Pittsburgh neighborhoods feel a little relief from food insecurity! 🍞

A food drive doesn’t have to be difficult! Whether you are simply collecting items or fully packing donation bags, we value each volunteer opportunity and know that you are making a direct (and immediate!) impact on the lives of families in Pittsburgh! ♥️

Did you know that our Christmas in the Kitchens events take place in neighborhoods we are already serving? These women work SO hard providing food for their neighborhoods through the Olla Común kitchens we support. When we visit their neighborhoods for the Christmas Parties, we make sure we thank them with a gift from The Mission Co! 🎁

When you give toward these parties, you are blessing more than the children in these communities! You are helping to make a lasting and direct impact to the women who sacrifice so much and become real pillars in Lima!

Hello friends!! Its Mike here. Rarely do I make any personal posts here, but it is time for one of my favorite things we do… Christmas in Peru.

Once again this year, we will be bringing all the Christmas things to our kitchens in Peru. We will spend 4 days going to 4 different communities, all of which are a part of our regular kitchen program that goes on throughout the year.

We have the opportunity to reach 1000 kids plus their families across those 4 days, and we need you to help us pull it off. Games, candy, Christmas food and drinks, presents for the kids, gifts for the ladies running the kitchens… all that we can do for just $25 per child. Its time to turn our house in Peru into Santa’s Workshop!!

Its simple.. 1,000 kids, $25 per child, $25,000.

THANK YOU to our volunteers for showing up to help us unpack, sort, organize & bag groceries for the Pittsburgh area!

Our Allegheny Storehouse is getting ready to distribute to the community as the weather starts to cool off and we head into our busy season and the holidays. With food insecurity continuing to impact families in Pittsburgh, our team at The Mission Co has seen an increase this year in need.

Partnering with local churches and community leaders allows us to quickly get fresh and healthy food options into the hands of our neighbors. Keeping our Collective members in the loop gives volunteers the ability to make a direct impact for families in Pittsburgh, you can join at the link below!

We know, it’s too early to think about Christmas. But the reality is that we need to start shopping SOON for these amazing ONE THOUSAND kids!! 🎁

We love providing each child that comes to the Christmas in the Kitchens events a small gift, and for some of them that will be the only gift they receive. Wrapping each gift, praying over the hands that receive it and anticipating these days is a gift to our team members. We can not WAIT to get there! 🎄

It’s almost time for our team to haul boxes and boxes and BOXES of toys through a narrow alley to bring a little joy to 1,000 children! 🎁

We are so excited to get moving on one of our favorite projects of the year! With that many presents to buy and 4 communities to reach in December, it’s coming up on crunch time!! 🎄

Back to School season for us at the Mission Co is when we start to prepare for the season ahead! 📚

Making sure kids come home from school to healthy snacks and meals is important to us of course, but we know that cooler temperatures are on the way…and with it come the Holidays! This time of year is when we lean heavily into planning with our partners to fill the Storehouse, prepare for Holiday distributions and try to make sure all of Pittsburgh is fed!

Last year we invited 1,000 kids to celebrate Christmas with us in 4 of the Olla Comùn kitchen neighborhoods. We can’t WAIT to see them again this year!! 🎄

Meeting these families in their communities and creating a day of fun for them is one way our volunteers have been able to spread a little joy during the holidays! Our volunteer list is filling up, but you can make a huge difference without ever leaving the country! ❤️
