🎙️ New Scholar Sessions: Dr. Lisa Farman of Ithaca College

For more than a decade, Dr. Lisa Farman has been one of the Washington Media Scholars Foundation’s strongest champions—helping students turn what they learn in the classroom into real-world experience.

Her advice to students is simple: “Why wouldn’t you want to go for it and just give it a shot?”

Where are they now? 🎥

2025 Media Fellow Amanda Allen is putting her skills to work as a Multi-Skilled Journalist with 13WMAZ News, part of TEGNA.

"So far in my career as a Multi-Skilled Journalist at 13WMAZ, I have had so many opportunities to showcase my skillset in storytelling and news production. I attribute that greatly to my education at USC; thanks to the WMSF and being a media fellow, I was able to further indulge myself into extra opportunities in college to build that skillset which has more than prepared me for my career as a journalist. I am very appreciative for the assistance I received from the foundation; the support truly does not go unnoticed."

We love seeing where our Media Fellows go next—and watching them turn their college experiences into careers in media.
