What an inspiring day at Rotary! 🇺🇸

We were honored to welcome Col. Christine “Nicky” Knighton, U.S. Army (Ret.), as our guest speaker. A trailblazer in the U.S. Army, Col. Knighton was the first woman to command a tactical combat arms battalion and one of the first African-American women to earn her Army aviator wings. After more than 29 years of distinguished service, she continues to inspire others through her story of leadership, perseverance, and service. Her message today was truly inspiring!

We also welcomed several wonderful guests to our meeting and enjoyed hearing from Dr. David Reynolds, who gave his classification talk. As a chiropractor, Dr. Reynolds shared his career journey, what led him to chiropractic care, and why he chose to become part of Rotary. It was wonderful getting to know more about him and his commitment to serving our community.

And, of course, there was plenty of fellowship around the lunch table! ❤️

💧 Walking Together. Creating Lasting Impact. 💧

Today, October 3, 2026, the Rotary District 7610 Strategic Water Alliance (SWA) brought Rotarians, Interact students, families, friends, and supporters together at Jones Point Park in Alexandria for the District 7610 SWA Walk for Water.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who came out to walk, connect, and raise awareness about one of the world’s most fundamental needs: access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene.

Today's walk was about much more than the miles we traveled. It was about understanding the distance that millions of people around the world must travel every day simply to obtain water. Through the Strategic Water Alliance (SWA), District 7610 Rotary clubs are helping bring sustainable water, sanitation, and hygiene solutions to communities around the world — while also making an impact right here in Mathews County, Virginia.
