The Barefoot Barn, Inc. We are a registered 501(c)(3) charity.

Located in Akron NY, we provide a home to farm animals who are elderly or who cannot be kept anymore, as well as and an opportunity for community members to interact with farm animals.

This winter has been so full of beautiful moments and terrible sadness, sometimes all at once. We lost our beloved hound, Victoria, to cancer in November. Our farm mayor, Mr. K, is now completely blind with dementia and is adjusting to a solely indoor life.

We welcomed a new sheep named Margie. We had a horrible loss of two of our beloved rabbits, Uno and Cadbury. Elvis colicked a few weeks ago but is recovering well. Twister continues to endure laminitis flares.

The one thing I’ve learned is that the only constant in life is change. And that the days I check on all of my babies, and they’re all ok are the very best days and I can never take that for granted. Thank you to everyone who helps us do this and supports us along the way.
