Calvary Community Supper during the pandemic:
We have experienced several transitions since March 2020. From a sit-down dinner to a drive thru Supper in our parking lot of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Acton, to now a hybrid, we are constantly focusing on what is best for our guests and volunteers. beginning October 13th we will adjust our COVID protocol so that we can better ensure the health a
nd wellbeing of our "family". To that point we would like to share with you our increased measures. Bring your appetite, your smile…and your COVID card
It has been a joy to welcome our guests back to the table for indoor dining. As we move into the winter months and the threat of COVID still remains, we will be taking precautions to keep everyone as safe as possible. We thank everyone in advance for your cooperation.
• Our tables will now be set up with a little more space to allow for better social distancing.
• Our volunteers will be wearing masks and gloves throughout the evening.
• We kindly ask all our dinner guests to wear masks when they enter the building and keep them on until they are seated at the table.
• Anyone entering the building to pick up a “Get and Go” meal should wear a mask.
• Our entire group of dedicated volunteers are fully vaccinated.
• Starting Wednesday, October 13, our sit-down guests will be asked to show proof of COVID vaccination before entering the dining room. You may bring your physical card or a picture of it on your cell phone. We hope these changes will not be viewed as a burden but as an opportunity for us to gather together safely. We look forward to seeing you each week and encourage you to bring your friends to join us for a hot, nutritious meal and some friendly conversation. We welcome everyone to our table and continue to be “Always Grateful for Another Wednesday.”
Our History:
Since Mt. Calvary Community Supper was established in April 2012, we have served approximately 43,000 meals. We are the only active community supper in Acton with a mission to alleviate food insecurity and social isolation for all our neighbors. We have been supported and joined by partners and meal sponsors who range from other non-profit organizations, churches, private individuals, elected officials to community organizations. Calvary Community Supper would not be possible without the volunteers who pick up food, set out outside tents and tables, cook, package, serve and clean up. Our leadership team is also all volunteer. Our volunteer community is remarkable and we welcome new faces! We are thankful for all who make supper possible every week and the wonderful kitchen and space provided by the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. In addition, Acton Congregational Church has offered the use of their kitchen when we are need of extra cooking space. Each Wednesday our teams dedicate themselves to welcoming anyone who wishes to enjoy a nutritious meal and experience a sense of belonging in a place where all are treated with respect and dignity. As of Wednesday, August 4th , we will returned to a sit-down dinner in our Fellowship Hall. Park your car in the back lot off Prospect St. The door will be opened at 4:15pm - no admission prior so the volunteers can prepare a delicious 3 course meal for all the guests. Wear a mask and bring proof of COVID vaccination. Dinner will begin at 4:45pm and be served until 5:45pm. If you are uncomfortable joining us at our large tables, we will have "pick-up" meals at 5:30pm - 6:00pm. You must park your car, out on your mask, and walk into the lobby to request a meal. No admission prior to 5:30pm unless you are joining us for our sit-down dinner. We look forward to having our Supper Family reunited. "Always Grateful for Another Wednesday!"
