Acton Trails

Acton Trails Connect with Acton's conservation lands, and the volunteer opportunities and events organized by Acton's Land Stewardship Committee.

The Town of Acton, Massachusetts has 22 conservation areas most of which have natural surface trails open to the non-motorized public. These properties are managed by Acton's Land Stewardship Committee, a volunteer sub-committee of Acton's Conservation Commission. It’s National Pollinator Week! And New England’s pollinators need you.
As you savor your morning coffee, refreshing fruit, crunchy vegetables, protein-packed nuts, or a decadent bite of chocolate ... you can give thanks to pollinators. In fact, did you know that one out of every three bites of food you eat is there because of pollinators? They also support healthy ecosystems that clean the air, stabilize soils, protect from severe weather, and support other wildlife.
Busy little bees, indeed! (So to speak.)
But the hard-working birds, bats, bees, butterflies, beetles, and other small mammals that pollinate native plants are in danger. The overuse of pesticides, destruction of natural habitats, and the effects of climate change are devastating pollinator populations in New England ... and around the world.
You can help! When you renew your Native Plant Trust membership today, you are supporting work to restore, protect, and promote landscapes that benefit pollinators and the environment. Here are just a few things Native Plant Trust is doing thanks to caring members like you …
• Educating the public through powerful partnerships like the Growing Wild for Pollinators movement and online classes including Gardening for Pollinators and Native Plants for Native Birds;
• Providing important online content including pollinator-helping subjects like "Ecological Gardening" and “Conserving and Restoring Habitats”;
• Hosting special events and author talks such as The Heirloom Gardener and The Northeast Native Plant Primer: 235 Plants for an Earth-friendly Garden; and
• Publishing our scientific findings for wide-spread use, including State of the Plants: Challenges and Opportunities for Conserving New England’s Native Flora and our 2021 report Conserving Plant Diversity in New England.
Together we will make a difference! I’m certain there’s a level of membership that will suit you. So please … protect pollinators, plants, and our natural heritage by renewing or joining today as a member of Native Plant Trust.

Thank you.
