Amazing photo from Rio de Janeiro right?

The growing protest movement in Brazil just scored a first victory -- the bus fare hikes in Sao Paulo and Rio that sparked the first demonstrations have been defeated.

Cheap, accessible public transit is key to climate justice, so this is a win for the planet and the people. If you're feeling inspired, click SHARE to pass it on -- it's contagious.

Dear friends,

Big Oil needs our help! In these tough economic times, fossil fuel companies just aren't making enough money. The Big Five oil companies—BP, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil, and Shell—made only $137 billion in 2011. They deserve more than the paltry $11 billion in fossil fuel subsidies that taxpayers are already handing them. Don't they?

So on August 4th, citizens across Massachusetts will hold Spare Change for Big Oil! donation drives. We want to find out how Americans really feel about these handouts.
