Founded in 2022, the Acton Winn Tenants Alliance was created by tenants of the Winn companies' properties within Acton.
Members include tenants of Spring Hill Commons on Great Rd, Spring Hill Commons on Harris St, Acton Town Homes on Great Rd, and Coach Estates on Brook St.
The objective of the Alliance is to work with Winn to address the common concerns we face as tenants.
Some of our concerns include;
Excessive wait times before addressing maintenance requests for serious issues such as lack of heat and water, black mold, rodents, cockroaches, structural damages, leaking roofs, non-working appliances, multiple fire code violations among others.
Retaliation for contacting the Acton Board of Health, violation of tenants' privacy, taking tenant's property including bikes, children’s toys, grills and outdoor furniture from their designated areas and throwing them in the dumpster.
Additionally, the new community manager is arrogant, condescending, engages in intimidating tactics, uses offensive language and is unprofessional when communicating with tenants.
These living conditions threaten our health, our children's health, and adversely affect the quality of our lives.
In November we wrote to Winn Companies and our elected officials informing them of our concerns. As a result, some maintenance requests have been attended to.
However, we continue to experience unacceptable living conditions and Winn Companies is refusing to negotiate with us as a group.
Please support our efforts by inviting your friends to like this page, and by signing a petition asking Winn to negotiate with the Tenants Alliance.
