Ocean Week 🌊

The ocean connects us all, and sea turtles remind us of the beauty and resilience of marine life.🌊

During Ocean Week, our rangers have been busy conducting morning beach patrols. As it is currently the nesting season for the Olive Ridley (Lepidechelys olivacea) sea turtle, this morning our team discovered fresh turtle tracks leading to a nest. To ensure the eggs safety, we carefully relocated 140 eggs to our rescue and conservation center.👣🐢

This Ocean Week serves as an important reminder of our shared responsibility to protect the ocean. By reducing pollution, conserving marine habitats, and supporting conservation initiatives, we can help safeguard the future of sea turtles💙🤞

Together, we can create a future where sea turtles continue to thrive in healthy, vibrant oceans 🐢💙🌊

Yesterday, the world celebrated World Turtle Day. 🌍🐢

Today, Mother Ocean gave us a beautiful gift. During our morning patrol, we discovered the tracks of an Olive Ridley sea turtle. After carefully following the tracks, we successfully relocated 122 eggs to the Lenuk Tasi rescue center for protection.

These precious nests are expected to hatch in late June. Every rescued nest is a small but meaningful step toward protecting our ocean and marine life. 🌊

In the past few days, we had the opportunity to interview the Secretario Estado Proteção Civil to discuss climate change, disaster risks, and the importance of protecting and supporting our communities — including women and people with disabilities.
A meaningful conversation for a safer and more inclusive future for everyone. 🌍✨

First Steps Into the World 🐢

Thousands of Olive Ridley and Hawksbill sea turtle hatchlings made their way to the ocean to begin their incredible journey.

The activity began with a guided tour that provided information about the importance of protecting endangered species and their vital role in maintaining a healthy ocean ecosystem.🌊

With a beautiful sunset as the backdrop, all participants enthusiastically joined in releasing these new lives into the sea.
