📍 Nordic representatives at the ETF Executive Committee | Nicosia, Cyprus 🇨🇾

Nordic representatives took part in the ETF - European Transport Workers' Federation Executive Committee meeting in Nicosia, where was elected new ETF Vice President.

Discussions covered platform work ahead of the ILO Conference, equal treatment for migrant workers, violence against transport workers, and key challenges in the transport sector.

The Committee also received an update from on the Tesla dispute and ongoing collective bargaining efforts.

🇸🇪🇳🇴🇩🇰 🇫🇮🇮🇸 Styrelsemöte med Nordiska Transportfederationen (NTF).

ℹ️ NTF består av fackföreningar från Sverige, Norge, Danmark, Finland och Island. Arbetet handlar om att utbyta information och se hur vi kan samarbeta.

🤝 ”Många frågeställningar och problem är liknande för oss. Samverkan och samarbete över landsgränserna är därför oerhört viktigt och värdefullt”, sa Transports förbundsordförande Tommy Wreeth, efter mötet.

NTF Executive Board meeting in Helsinki

The NTF Executive Board is meeting in Helsinki this week. Today, 7 April, we were pleased to welcome the ETF - European Transport Workers' Federation General Secretary Livia Spera as a guest speaker.

Discussions focused on key EU‑level developments, including military mobility, the revision of the European Labour Authority (ELA), the upcoming Fair Labour Mobility Package, and the so‑called “28th regime” (EU Inc.).

The Board also warmly thanked Terje Samuelsen for his long and dedicated service as he soon begins his well‑earned retirement. 👏

The meeting continues tomorrow with discussions on future priorities, ETF and ITF updates, and exchanges on national developments.

🤝 Strong Nordic cooperation remains at the heart of our work.

European Maritime Skills Forum, Brussels ⚓

At the annual meeting, we shared updates on three workstreams: Green Skills, Digitalisation, and Leadership & Inclusion.

Thanks to ETF speakers Sascha Meijer (Nautilus International) and Nikolaos Koletsis, ETF Senior Policy Officer, for their contributions.

The NTF also thanks all ETF unions who took part this year—your input was much appreciated.

The NTF was represented by Coordinator Christer Norfall. Attending unions included Nautilus International NL Nautilus International Профспiлка робітників морського транспорту України ПРМТУ and Det norske maskinistforbund.

🇫🇮 Court Confirms: Food Couriers Are Employees 🤩

The Supreme Administrative Court has upheld its earlier ruling that food couriers are employees — not independent contractors.

Wolt had requested the decision to be overturned last September, but the Court has now rejected that appeal.
