They didn't land on the Moon. 👀
Last night, the four Artemis II astronauts splashed down in the Pacific off San Diego, ending a 10-day mission — and the farthest humans have ever traveled from Earth: 406,771 km, breaking Apollo 13's record.
No landing, by design. Artemis II was a test of the Orion spacecraft, the Space Launch System, and the crew operating both in conditions no simulation can fully reproduce. Every system that held up here is ground the next missions won't have to break.
Along the way: the Moon's far side seen by human eyes for the first time in 54 years, a total solar eclipse witnessed from deep space, and Portuguese cork protecting the heat shield that brought them home.

The next generation is growing up in a world of overlapping crises.
But it is also creating solutions.

Youth Pulse 2026, a report by the World Economic Forum in collaboration with the Global Shapers Community, gathered insights from nearly 4,600 young people in 144 countries. The message is clear:

🌡️ The pressure is real.
🛠️ Adaptation is fast.
🤝 Leadership is emerging from the bottom up.

Young people are redefining work, community, technology, and climate action.
They are not waiting for perfect conditions.
They are building opportunities now.

In Lisboa and around the world, we continue to turn these ideas into action.

Because the future cannot be designed for young people.
It must be designed with young people.

Apart from geopolitics and rupture, Davos 2026 also revealed a set of shared priorities shaping how the future is being approached.

The majority of conversations revolved around Artificial Intelligence, no longer framed only as a driver of innovation, but as infrastructure and power. Sustainability remained present, yet often secondary, while inequality continues to widen and leadership itself is increasingly contested. Under this pressure, leadership is being redefined, and work, trust and institutions are being reshaped in real time.

What comes next depends on choices, responsibility and the willingness to act, especially from the next generation of leaders.

The Annual Meeting 2026, held from January 19 to 23 in Davos, brought together leaders from government, business, civil society, and international organisations to confront the world’s most pressing global challenges.

This year, one message was unmistakable: we are entering a phase of rupture.
Fewer rules. More power. Values are under pressure, globalization is being reshaped, and cooperation is no longer ideological, but pragmatic.

Cooperation survives, but only if we choose to shape it. 🌍

The future won’t be rule-based by default, it will be shaped by those willing to act.

This leaves one question unresolved: in a world of fewer rules and more power, who gets to shape the future?
