The EU has deployed assistance to Belgium and Spain through the Mechanism, as wildfires continue to affect several parts of Europe.
🇧🇪 In Belgium, two firefighting planes were dispatched from Sweden, alongside six helicopters from the Netherlands, Norway and Germany, to support local crews battling the blaze in the Hautes Fagnes, where more than 3,000 hectares have now burnt.
🇪🇸 In Spain, 104 ground firefighters and 36 vehicles from France have joined Spanish teams fighting fires in the Aragón region, where close to 16,000 hectares have burnt.
The EU is also supporting emergency services on the ground with satellite mapping through the Copernicus Emergency Management Service, currently active for wildfires across Belgium, Spain, Greece, Germany, Montenegro, Albania, Serbia and Italy.
No country fights wildfires alone.
