We began as a group of 5 famous top-rated hostels back in 1995 and named ourselves “The Famous Five”. Over the last 20 years budget traveling has taken off and due to huge demand for the “new concept” budget and stylish accommodation there was a need to expand! Here’s what you actually need to know:
🟢 Legal & regulated: Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Greece
🔴 Client criminalised: Sweden, France, Ireland, Norway, Iceland
🟡 Grey area: Spain, Italy, Belgium, Czech Republic

Three rules that apply everywhere:
📵 No photos or videos — ever. It’s illegal and dangerous.
🚶 Don’t loiter, stare or harass. It’s someone’s workplace.
📖 Know the local law before you go. It changes city to city.
