You're a very sensible person, Doc.

You're a very sensible person, Doc.

THE REALITY THAT HURTS.

Traveling to first-world countries like South Korea, Japan, and Singapore makes you realize how far behind the Philippines still is—not just economically, but in the standards of everyday living.

In Makati, BGC, Cebu, and Davao, we see progress. We see skyscrapers, luxury establishments, and modern lifestyles. Yet, beneath the progress, many Filipinos still struggle with purchasing power. Carinderias remain essential because affordable meals are not a luxury; they are a necessity.

Then you travel to Seoul, Japan, or Singapore.

You enter an ordinary eatery. The place is clean. The food is well-prepared. The service is organized. The dining experience is dignified.

And you realize: What feels like an upgrade to us is simply their everyday standard—even for ordinary employees.

A meal that costs ₱500 may be an ordinary expense for them, but for many Filipinos, that same amount is already a significant part of the day's budget.

That is the painful reality. It is not simply about how much we earn. It is about how much our money can actually buy, the quality of life we can afford, and the standards we have learned to accept.

Even in aesthetic medicine and dermatology, we continue to educate, innovate, and raise the bar. Many Filipino doctors strive to bring world-class standards to our country. We invest in training, technology, safety, and better patient care.

But the reality is heartbreaking: quality healthcare remains a privilege for many, rather than an accessible standard for all.

And sometimes, in our desire to experience what others can afford, we turn to black-market products, counterfeit devices, and knockoffs. We want the same results, the same experience, the same feeling of being at par with the rest of the world—but without the same purchasing power or access to legitimate, quality services.

I do not blame ordinary Filipinos for wanting better. I understand why they look for cheaper alternatives.

What saddens me is that people are often forced to choose between what they can afford and what is truly safe.

We can increase salaries on paper. We can build more skyscrapers. We can open more luxury clinics and shopping centers. We can call our cities progressive.

But progress is not measured by how luxurious a country looks. It is measured by how dignified an ordinary citizen's life can be.

And this is where the conversation must go beyond salaries, politics, and economic growth. It must be about purchasing power, education, public health, accountability, and a culture that values quality over shortcuts.

I love my country. I believe in our people. And I know that Filipino doctors, professionals, and entrepreneurs are capable of world-class work.

But loving your country does not mean pretending that everything is fine.

Sometimes, traveling abroad makes you proud of what we can achieve—and deeply saddened by what we continue to lack.

My question is this: How long will we keep calling ourselves progressive when quality living, safe healthcare, and basic dignity remain beyond the reach of so many Filipinos?

I would genuinely like to hear your thoughts.

Do you feel the same when you travel abroad and return to the Philippines? Or do you believe we are already catching up?

I have always believed that the Youthplus team has the heart and the ability to make wonderful things happen. Here is our Youthplus team in Carigara, extending medical services to the community through our medical mission. Seeing them serve reminds me of what Youthplus truly stands for: compassion, service, and the commitment to make a difference in people's lives.

My belief has always been the same: HELPING PEOPLE HAS NO POLITICAL COLOR.

People may have different perspectives, affiliations, and interpretations of the things happening around them. But when it comes to serving others, our purpose remains unchanged. We are here to help, to care, and to give back—not because of political interests, but because we believe that every person deserves access to care and compassion.

As healthcare professionals, we are bound by an oath to serve humanity. We do not choose whom to treat based on political beliefs, affiliations, or personal differences. We care for people because it is our duty, and because every life matters.

At Youthplus, we will continue to serve with sincere intentions and open hearts. We may not always see things the same way, but we can always choose to do what is right and meaningful for others.

No political color should ever be greater than our commitment to humanity.

To the Youthplus team in Carigara, thank you for embodying the values we stand for. You remind us that the true measure of service is not in who receives the credit, but in how many lives we touch.

Youthplus: Serving beyond differences. Caring beyond colors. Giving back with purpose.

Doing more, together!

Doing more, together!

COUPLE GOALS ARE NOT ABOUT BEING THE SAME. THEY’RE ABOUT MOVING IN THE SAME DIRECTION.

My husband and I are proud to be part of the Rotary Club of San Juanico Tacloban together. We may be among the first couples to join the same Rotary club, and we understand that people may have different opinions about it.

But why should only one of us join when we can both contribute, learn, and grow together?

For us, marriage is not about being perfect or agreeing on everything. It is about understanding each other’s strengths and weaknesses, knowing our limits, learning to adjust, and finding ways to manage our differences.

Over the years, we’ve learned that a good relationship requires continuous improvement—not just in how we love each other, but also in how we communicate, make decisions, handle challenges, and build our future.

Joining Rotary is also a strategic choice. Rather than spreading ourselves across too many organizations, we choose to invest our time and energy in one meaningful community where we share a purpose: service to humanity.

We believe growth is better when it has direction, and partnership is stronger when both people understand the goal.

We don’t have to do everything separately to prove that we are individuals. We can have our own strengths while working toward something meaningful together.

Different personalities. Shared values. One direction.

That’s how we make our partnership work—not by being perfect, but by being intentional.

500 PATIENTS. ONE MISSION. ONE COMMUNITY UNITED BY SERVICE.

Our deepest gratitude to the LGU of Carigara for opening its doors and allowing Youthplus Medical Group Inc. to bring our medical mission to the people of Carigara on October 4, 2026.

This historic mission would not have been possible without the support and partnership of the LGU of Carigara, the Rotary Club of San Juanico Tacloban, the husband and wife Dr. Baillo, and Tadz Baillo. Thank you for believing in the power of collaboration and in our shared commitment to serve the community.

Together, we reached **500 patients—children and adults—**providing medical care for conditions involving the skin, eyes, ears, nose, and throat, as well as minor surgical procedures including circumcision (tuli), mole excision, cyst excision, and other essential services.

But beyond the number of patients, what touched us most were the people behind every consultation.

The families who patiently waited.
The children who came with their parents.
The patients who finally had the opportunity to seek medical attention.
The smiles, conversations, and simple words of gratitude that reminded us why we continue to serve.

And our mission was made even more special by the presence of our wonderful Youthplus ambassadors and friends, who generously gave their time not only to represent Youthplus, but also to entertain, interact with, and bring joy to our patients while they waited for their turn to be served.

Our heartfelt thanks to:

✨ Miss Universe Leyte 2025 — Ms. Kareyl Cabahug
✨ Miss Dulag 2025 — Ms. Alyssa Taala
✨ Miss Pintados 2026 3rd Runner-Up — Ms. Ylh Portillo
✨ Mr. James Peconcillo
✨ Mr. Tyron Capon
✨ Cladge and Mitch
✨ Innov8 Artist — Reggie Rams

Your presence brought another dimension to the mission. Sometimes, healing is not only about medicine. It is also about making people feel seen, welcomed, valued, and cared for.

To our entire Youthplus team, thank you for your dedication, professionalism, and willingness to go where service is needed. You gave more than your time and expertise—you gave your hearts.

We did it again. We made history again.

But this achievement does not belong to Youthplus alone.

It belongs to everyone who showed up, everyone who helped, everyone who volunteered, and everyone who believed that something good could be done for the people of Carigara.

This mission proved once again that when government, civic organizations, medical professionals, volunteers, ambassadors, artists, and the community work hand in hand, extraordinary things become possible.

To the people of Carigara, thank you for allowing us to serve you.

It was our privilege.
It was our honor.
And it is a memory that we will carry with us.

500 patients served. Hundreds of stories heard. Countless smiles shared. One unforgettable day of service.

Because at the heart of Youthplus is a simple belief:

Healthcare is a responsibility. Service is a privilege. And compassion is something we can all give.
