CRMNHS Participates in NuLab: STEM in Motion Exhibit during RSTW 2025

Tacloban City – The Department of Science and Technology Regional Office VIII (DOST RO VIII) formally launched the 2025 Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW) on September 5, 2025, with the theme β€œBuilding Smart and Sustainable Communities.” The week-long celebration underscored the importance of science-driven programs and interactive activities in fostering innovation and strengthening science education across Eastern Visayas.

Among the key activities was the NuLab: STEM in Motion Exhibit, conducted at the Philippine Science High School Eastern Visayas Campus (PSHS-EVC) grounds. The mobile laboratory was designed to provide Grade 9, Grade 10, and Senior High School learners with meaningful opportunities to engage in hands-on laboratory experiments, participate in STEM-focused discussions, and interact with experts from various scientific fields.

Cirilo Roy Montejo National High School (CRMNHS) actively took part in the exhibit by fielding 35 Grade 10 Erudite STE students, under the guidance of their mentors, Mrs. Florida L. CRMNHS Joins Indie-Siyensya Film Festival at RSTW 2025

Tacloban City – The Department of Science and Technology Regional Office VIII (DOST RO VIII) officially announced the conduct of the 2025 Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW) on September 3, 2025, anchored on the theme β€œBuilding Smart and Sustainable Communities.”
As part of the RSTW celebration, DOST is leading several STEM interactive activities for learners and teachers across Eastern Visayas. One of the highlights is the Indie-Siyensya Film Festival, held at the Philippine Science High School – Eastern Visayas Campus (PSHS-EVC) Gymnasium.

In a collaborative and purpose-driven meeting held on July 21, 2025, at the ICT Room, the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) officers of Cirilo Roy Montejo National High School convened to propose and finalize their action plan for School Year 2025–2026.

Led by YES-O President **Angeli Nicole D. Canayong**, the session focused on planning key environmental programs and initiatives aimed at promoting sustainability, climate action, and youth engagement. The officers actively contributed ideas to strengthen the organization’s goals in line with the school's advocacy for ecological responsibility and active student participation.

The meeting was attended by the complete roster of YES-O officers along with the support and guidance of the YES-O School Coordinator. Highlights of the proposed action plan include intensified clean-up drives, the enhancement of the Material Recovery Facility (MRF), tree planting activities, the promotion of local eco-tourism, and income-generating projects such as the YES-Oap (Liquid Hand Soap).
