Being useful is a good thing.
People trust you. Work gets done. Families function. Teams move. Problems get solved.
But after enough years of being the reliable one, the capable one, the person everybody calls, the line between what you contribute and what you are worth can get surprisingly blurry.
Then life changes the arrangement.
A role ends. Work shifts. Children grow up. Leadership moves. Energy changes. Technology learns to do things that once required years of experience.
And suddenly, being useful is no longer such a simple measure.
So on November 7, The Healthy Hub is setting aside for a full-day Spiritual Recollection with Life Coach Marife Garfin —for a question that deserves more than a quick answer.
CALLED BEYOND USEFULNESS
The Gift of Being Human
The day is rooted in Scripture, but this is not about adding Bible verses to a career conversation.
It is about looking at the person before the role.
Before the title. Before the output. Before being needed. Before the long list of things you have become very good at doing for other people.
Scripture has a great deal to say about work, calling, stewardship, responsibility, service, and the gifts we have been given.
But it also gives us a way of understanding human value that is much harder to measure—and much harder to lose.
This distinction becomes important when life starts rearranging the things we once used to explain who we are.
