Unity in Action: Lorma Colleges and LGU Bacnotan Partnering for Progress and Inclusivity!

Today Aptril 16, 2026, we are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in our commitment to community service and academic excellence! Lorma Colleges and the Local Government Unit of Bacnotan have officially solidified their partnership through the formal signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

This momentous occasion was led by the Municipal Mayor of Bacnotan and the President of Lorma Colleges, marking a unified commitment to progress. The signing was witnessed by key officials from both the LGU and Lorma Colleges, ensuring a strong foundation for the projects ahead.
This collaboration isn’t just a formal agreement—it’s a promise to bring academic expertise directly to the heart of the community. Through Research and Extension Programs, Lorma Colleges is launching services for the residents of Bacnotan. This partnership ensures that our students and faculty are not just learning—they are actively transforming lives and serving the community.
A heartfelt thank you to the leadership of LGU Bacnotan and Lorma Colleges for their dedication to this cause. Together, we move forward!

Last March 25, 2026, as the vibrant sails of the Flotilla painted our horizon for Foundation Day, the Lorma Colleges family was on the ground with a mission: Cleaning up while celebrating our vibrant Flotilla traditions.

We believe that true festivity goes hand-in-hand with responsibility. While the community gathered to witness the beauty of our maritime heritage, our students, faculty, and staff worked together to ensure that our shores remain as pristine as our history.

By integrating environmental stewardship into our founding anniversary, we honor the waters that sustain us and the community that defines us. At Lorma, we don't just celebrate our past—we protect our future.

At Lorma Colleges, extension work is a vital pillar of our identity. We are thrilled to share that a new MOA has been signed, marking a 3-year commitment to data-driven health programs in San Fernando City.
Research Institute Chairman Mrs. Marites C. Pagdilao presented a comprehensive framework that integrates LORMA Research Thrusts with SDGs 2, 3, 4, 5, 11, and 17. This partnership ensures that our extension activities—ranging from Quality Assessments to the Paaralang Bughaw program—are backed by evidence and aimed at long-term sustainability.
Through the synergy of Research and Extension, we continue to uphold our commitment to Pillar 2: A Culture of Wellbeing.

On this special day, a community came together for a cause that's close to our hearts! We're incredibly proud of the joint tree planting activity held at Legleg Elementary School (LES) on September 17, 2025.
It was a beautiful sight to see Legleg Elementary School's learners, parents, and teachers join forces with the Catechists of St. John the Baptist Parish and representatives from Lorma Colleges.
Collectively, around 200 cacao and other fruit trees were planted in the LES school's backyard. This wasn't just about planting trees; it was a powerful lesson in environmental care and the strength of community. We're excited to watch these trees grow, knowing they'll provide a greener, more fruitful future for generations to come.
Thank you to everyone who participated and made this event a huge success! Let's continue to work together to make our world a better place, one tree at a time.

Great things are on the horizon! Lorma Colleges recently paid a visit to the BCS-SPED Center as preparation for an exciting and meaningful project with their learners.

Our very own representatives from Student Services and Wellbeing (SSW), Ms. Erannie Jasmin and Mr. Reggie Buccat, met with the wonderful faculty and administration of the center. The discussion centered on how our Lorma Colleges-International Student Organization (LC-ISO) can best engage with the students of the SPED Center.

This collaboration is a testament to our commitment to community service and inclusivity. We can't wait to share more details about this special upcoming activity!

Today, September 5. 2025, despite the rainy weather, the spirit of collaboration shone bright at Lubing Elementary School (LES)! Lorma Colleges, in partnership with LES, pushed through with a scheduled tree planting activity, making it a truly meaningful event. The team planted about 50 cacao, rambutan, and tiesa(eggfruit) seedlings—each one a symbol of our shared commitment to a greener future. It was a beautiful collaboration between different Lorma departments—the Students Service & Welfare (SSW), Finance Management Office (FMO), Facilities, Environment and Sustainability (FES), and students from the College of Physical Therapy. We were honored to join forces with the dedicated administration, faculty, parents, and learners of LES.
Though the pouring rain cut our activity short, the collaborative spirit lingers. This was the second time we have held this event at the school, and each time, it reinforces the strong bond between our communities.
The bond was officially sealed through the signing of the MOA on Tree planting that will establish a long-term commitment of all parties to work together on future initiatives aimed at benefiting both students and the environment. The MOA outlines the shared responsibilities and objectives, ensuring that the partnership extends beyond individual events and becomes a sustainable model for community development. The agreement was signed by the Principal of LES, President of LES-PTA and the Director of the Community Extension Services Office of Lorma Colleges symbolizing a united front in advancing educational and ecological goals.
Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to this effort! We look forward to watching these trees grow and flourish, just like our partnership.

It was an honor to partner with the Mu Phi Sigma Sorority and Fraternity of UP Manila for a critical relief operation in Bacnotan, La Union. On August 18, we distributed essential food packs and hygiene kits to 190 families in Barangay Arosip, an area hit hard by Typhoon Emong.

The Mu Phi Sigma Sorority and Fraternity spearheaded a donation drive and provided a generous monetary contribution, while Lorma Colleges handled the on-ground logistics—from procurement and repacking to the final distribution. This collaborative effort proves the powerful impact of community service when we unite for a common cause.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed!
