𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 | 𝐏𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐬 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

Through words, images, and creative expression, members of the MSU Honors Program participated in Craft-a-thon, the culminating activity of 𝐒𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, organized by the Psychology Majors Society (PsyMS) in partnership with the Office of Guidance and Counselling – Peer Support Team (OGC-PST) on October 4, 2026, at the College of Public Affairs (CPA) Amphitheater.

Through their participation in the poetry writing and photography competitions, 𝐏𝐨𝐨𝐩 𝐘𝐚𝐡𝐲𝐚, 𝐏𝐨𝐨𝐩 𝐍𝐚𝐲𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐨𝐩 𝐌𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐲 of the MSU Honors Program joined fellow student creatives in using their talents to support mental health awareness. Their participation was marked by notable achievements, with P**p Yahya earning 3rd Runner-Up in the Photography Category and P**p Naye securing 3rd Runner-Up in Poetry Writing.

Beyond the competition and recognition, their involvement highlights the value of creative expression in opening conversations about mental health. Every poem and photograph can offer a different perspective, encourage empathy, and reminder of the importance of listening to and supporting one another.

May we learn to listen to the words left unspoken, to notice the pain hidden behind a smile, and to offer kindness even when we do not fully understand another person’s struggles. Sometimes, a simple question, a patient ear, or the reassurance that someone is not alone can mean more than we realize.
Because behind every silence is a story we may never know, and behind every struggling heart is a life worth reaching for. No one should have to wonder if their presence matters. Let us be the reason someone remembers that it does.

𝗠𝗦𝗨 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗦𝗢 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

The 𝗠𝗦𝗨 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 joined fellow student organizations at the 𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗦𝗢 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 on October 4 at the Meranaw Cultural Heritage Center, guided by the theme “𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳 𝘈𝘙𝘊𝘚𝘖: 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘗𝘶𝘳𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘦, 𝘋𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘣𝘺 𝘈𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯".

The assembly brought together student leaders to exchange insights, understand the role of their organizations, and recognize the shared purpose behind student-led initiatives across the MSU community.

Representing the MSU Honors Program were Executive Chairman, 𝙋𝙤𝙤𝙥 𝙈𝙤𝙝𝙖𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙙 𝙄𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙝𝙞𝙢 𝙐𝙨𝙢𝙖𝙣 and Admission Chairman, 𝙋𝙤𝙤𝙥 𝙁𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙖 𝙅𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙖 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙨. Their participation marks another opportunity for the MSU HP to step beyond its own circle, connect with fellow organizations, and gain perspectives that further its role as part of the broader MSU student community.

The MSU Honors Program proudly congratulates Sittie Jazrene B. Mangotara for competing at the 4th Resurgence Novice Debate Cup (RNDC), held on September 25–26, 2026, at the IPDM Social Hall, MSU–Main Campus.

As a beginner and first-time competitive debater, P**p Jaz stepped onto the debate floor with courage, determination, and a willingness to learn.

Despite limited training and experience, she rose to the challenge and earned the recognition of 4𝐓𝐇 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐆𝐄 𝐁𝐄𝐒𝐓 𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐄𝐑.

Her achievement reflects the value of taking chances, embracing challenges, and growing beyond one’s comfort zone. Her first competition became a meaningful milestone in her journey as a debater.

May you continue to find your voice, strengthen your arguments, and inspire others through your courage and dedication.

The MSU Honors Program proudly congratulates P**p Asnia B. Taratingan for attending the 4th Muslim Youth Conference, held on August 18–20, 2026, at Chali Resort & Conference Center, Cagayan de Oro City.

She was also recognized with the Best Mediator Award, acknowledging her role in promoting understanding and managing conflicts between different sides.

As part of the conference’s team activities, her group received the Excellence in Community Planning Award, which included ₱50,000 in funding for their proposed project, sponsored by the organizers.

The conference was organized by the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos – Region X (NCMF-X), in partnership with the Hanns Seidel Foundation – Philippines, to strengthen Muslim youth leadership, community involvement, and peacebuilding.

Guided by the goal of empowering Muslim youth to become responsible and active community leaders, the conference provided a platform for learning, teamwork, and meaningful participation.

𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 | 𝐏𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝, 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐖 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

The MSU Honors Program took part in 𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐖 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔: Training Aspiring Nation Builders through Action and Wisdom, a one-day leadership training themed “Seeing Beyond, Leading Forward,” held on September 13, 2026, at the International Convention Center, MSU Main Campus, Marawi City. The event was organized by the MSU Main DOST-SEI Scholars League (MDSL).

Representing the Program were P**ps Jaz, Naye, Aya, and Naha, who joined fellow aspiring leaders in the discussions, activities, and leadership-building sessions.

Also present were P**ps Sara, Abu, Macx, and Rayed, who contributed to the organization and successful implementation of the event.

The training featured talks from Mr. Jun-najar Abubacar, Class Valedictorian of Batch Rinayag 2026 and Dr. Abdullah A. Abdul Aziz. Through these sessions, participants gained valuable insights into leadership, teamwork, and responsibility.

The involvement of the resident members reflects their continued commitment to personal growth, responsible leadership, and meaningful service within the university community.

The MSU Honors Program Admission Orientation set sail on September 19, bringing together a spirited and inquisitive cohort of applicants at the MSU-CPA Social Hall.

The orientation offered our applicants an insightful glimpse into the Honors Program, its distinctive community, and the opportunities that await within it.
And just like that, our newest batch of hopefuls has caught a first glimpse of what lies beyond the harbor.

To everyone who joined us, thank you for making the harbor a little brighter, livelier, and more vibrant. Your enthusiasm, curiosity, and spirited presence made the gathering truly memorable.
May this be only the beginning of an exciting chapter filled with meaningful encounters, enriching experiences, and boundless possibilities. As the tides recede, may the curiosity kindled within our applicants continue to carry them into deeper waters.
