Marawi, a city that has endured so much in recent years, should not become a venue for events that undermine its Islamic identity. We urge the authorities and the community to stand against this concert and any similar events that disrespect our faith and traditions.

May Allah guide us all to the straight path and protect our community from the evils that threaten our moral fabric.

Protest Against Shaira’s Concert in Marawi City

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As Muslims, it is our duty to enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil, as emphasized in the Qur'an and the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The recent announcement of Shaira's concert in Marawi has sparked concern among the Muslim community, particularly among the Ulama sector. We condemn this event, as it contradicts the core values and teachings of Islam.

The Qur'an states in Surah Al-Imran:

"Let there arise out of you a group of people inviting to all that is good (Islam), enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong. And it is they who are the successful." (Qur'an 3:104)

This verse clearly outlines our responsibility to guide one another towards righteousness and prevent any actions that may lead us astray. Music, as established by the scholars, is among the forbidden practices in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) warned us about the harmful effects of music, saying:

“There will be among my Ummah people who will regard as permissible adultery, silk, alcohol, and musical instruments...” (Sahih al-Bukhari)

Music often serves as a distraction from the remembrance of Allah and can lead to other sinful behaviors. It promotes a culture of heedlessness and contradicts the principles of modesty and purity that Islam upholds.

Today, we extend our gratitude as we hand-deliver these blessings to the doorsteps of two 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻, Lanao del Sur, amplifying the spirit of community and compassion."

To our invaluable donors, your support fuels our mission and underscores the power of collective action in making positive change. We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to every individual behind this initiative, whose dedication and tireless efforts have made this endeavor possible.

PS. We opted to reuse the tarpaulin from last year for documentation purposes, ensuring that our funds are not spent on printing new ones.

Daleg o Suwara Organization, in collaboration with Khadijah Mohammad Islamic Academy-Marawi, successfully carried out our 2nd Outreach Program providing 200 free iftar packs to the community.

First stop:
📍Al-Shafie Qur'anic Center at Cadayonan II, Marawi City.
We provided iftar packs to 87 Orphan Morits.

Second stop:
📍Madrasah Mohammad Faiz Mapandi Litahfeedhel Qur'an at Lilod Saduc, Marawi City with 20 Orphan Morits.

Finally, we distributed the remaining 93 free iftar packs in Ground Zero, ensuring that the community had access to nourishing food during this important time. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve and help those in need, and we remain committed to continuing our efforts in the future, for the sake of pleasing Allah swt.

To our donors, we appreciate your support and we hope that you will continue to be part of our efforts in creating a better world.

Last April 17, 2023, Daleg o Suwara organization successfully held its first outreach program at Darul Fitya, Pantar, Lanao del Norte. We were able to provide the morits with essential items to help them in their daily lives, including 2 sacks of 25kilos rice, salt, sugar, native coffee, 2 tray of eggs, and fruits. We are grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact in the community and we look forward to continuing our efforts in the future.

Alhamdulillah hilladhi bini'matihi tatimmo saalihaat for our second Islamic Seminar at Khadijah Mohammad Islamic Academy- Marawi Base in conjunction with Ustadh AbdurRahman Romato as the Resource Speaker tackling about "Tawheed and its Significance to Society's Endeavors" held last April 1, 2023.

Unanticipatedly, a few students from different schools breeze in to witness it and with that, we sincerely extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who came, participated and helped in making this event a successful one. We wholeheartedly hoping that you will always bring with you the learnings from this seminar, until the next event.
