𝐏𝐚𝐰𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 & 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧-𝐮𝐩🐢🌊

On the morning of February 1, 2026, the sun cast a warm glow over the shores of Barangay Labac, Naic, Cavite. The Mountaineering & Exploration Society of Adamson University (MESAU) joined the dedicated volunteer patrollers of the Labac Pawikan Sanctuary for a pawikan release and cleanup drive — a day where care and action came together.

Since its founding in 2009 by the former Barangay Captain of Labac, the sanctuary has grown into a close-knit community protecting pawikans and guiding hatchlings safely to the sea.

Armed with sacks and determination, we collected litter along the shoreline, making the beach safer for the little turtles. Then came the magical moment: watching tiny pawikans crawl across the sand and disappear into the waves. Each turtle’s journey reminded us that even small acts of care can create ripples of hope.

This day wasn’t just about releasing turtles. It was about teamwork, compassion, and the shared effort to protect life — a story of hope we were proud to be part of.

On this World Mental Health Day, we are reminded that the mountains we climb aren’t always made of rock and soil — sometimes, they’re made of emotions we keep hidden, battles we fight quietly, and burdens we carry alone.

But the truth is, we’re not alone. Every one of us has our own climb, our own pace, and our own story. Some days, we reach great heights; other days, we simply try to find our footing and both are worth celebrating.

Let this day remind us that strength doesn’t always look like standing tall. Sometimes, it’s choosing to rest. Sometimes, it’s asking for help. And sometimes, it’s just showing up, even when the journey feels uncertain.
