Metro Pacific Investments Foundation (MPIF), together with LGU-Alaminos City, Pangasinan, has recently kicked off preparations for the launch of Project R.E.S.H.O.R.E. (Resilient Ecosystem and Sustainable Habitats through Organized Restoration & Employment).

Under MPIF's Gabay Kabuhayan pillar, Project R.E.S.H.O.R.E. empowers the local community to become active partners in restoring and protecting degraded mangrove ecosystems.

Representatives from the City Administrator's Office, City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), Barangay Bued, and MPIF have convened for a strategic planning session to lay the groundwork for this initiative.

30 qualified municipal fisherfolk and residents of vulnerable coastal households will restore a 2.19-hectare degraded area within the Bued Mangrove Eco-Park through debris clearing and strategic mangrove planting. Eventually, this would help rebuild vital carbon sinks and strengthen the community's natural coastal protection against storm surges.

This International Day for the Conservation of Mangroves, we celebrate these vital ecosystems and the communities working tirelessly to protect them.

Through Shore It Up's Mangrove Centers in Alaminos, Pangasinan; Cordova, Cebu; and Del Carmen, Siargao, Metro Pacific Investments Foundation supports the protection and sustainable management of 5,263 hectares of mangrove cover, fostering environmental stewardship, sustainable livelihoods, and a deeper appreciation for our blue forests.

Meet Bo Mancao — multi-awarded underwater photographer and cinematographer. His work in underwater photography, marine documentation, and visual storytelling helps bring the beauty and importance of reef ecosystems closer to the public. During the expedition, Bo Mancao will lead visual documentation and conservation storytelling efforts in the Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park and World Heritage Site.
