๐Ÿฆธ๐Ÿฝ

Ngunit hindi pa rito nagtatapos ang laban.

๐Ÿ’š Sa pamamagitan ng Forest Ranger for a Day Learning Visit, magkakaroon ka ng pagkakataong matuto tungkol sa kahalagahan ng ating mga kagubatan at watershed, at native tree nursery management, kasama mismo ang mga Bantay Gubat na nangunguna sa pangangalaga sa Ipo Watershed.

๐ŸŒณ

๐Ÿ”๏ธ We have formalized a partnership to restore three hectares of degraded forest within the Protected Landscape (QPL) in the Mountain Range.

๐Ÿ’š Building on our ongoing restoration efforts in the landscape, GSI's support will help expand forest restoration in priority conservation areas managed by Indigenous Peoples (IPs), while creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for local communities.

๐ŸŒณ The initiative also strengthens the protection of the QPL, a Key Biodiversity Area (KBA) and watershed within the Sierra Madre that plays a vital role in conserving biodiversity, protecting water resources, and building climate resilience.

๐Ÿฅณ We proudly congratulate two outstanding conservation champions on their well-deserved recognitions!

๐ŸŒฟ Dir. Lisa Paguntalan-Marte, Executive Director of the Philippine Biodiversity Conservation Foundation, Inc. (PBCFI) and our grantee, has been named a recipient of the MIDORI Prize for Biodiversity 2026, an international award recognizing exceptional contributions to biodiversity conservation. Her decades of leadership in species conservation, habitat protection, and community-based conservation continue to inspire and strengthen efforts to protect the Philippines' rich natural heritage.

๐ŸŒณ Dr. Edwino Fernando, Former Trustee of the Board and Professor Emeritus of the College of Forestry and Natural Resources, University of the Philippines Los Baรฑos, has been elected as a member of the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) in recognition of his lifelong contributions to forestry, biodiversity conservation, and natural resource management.

๐Ÿ’š We are honored to have worked alongside Dir. Paguntalan-Marte and Dr. Fernando in advancing environmental conservation in the Philippines. Their dedication, expertise, and leadership continue to inspire collaborative action for forests, biodiversity, and communities.

๐ŸŒฑ are among our most valuable coastal ecosystems. They protect shorelines from storms and erosion, provide habitat for wildlife, sustain fisheries, store carbon, and support the livelihoods of coastal communities.

๐ŸŒŸThis , let's remember that mangrove restoration is not simply about planting more treesโ€”it's about planting the right species in the right place. Understanding mangrove zonation ensures that restoration efforts work with nature, allowing mangrove forests to thrive for generations.

2๏ธโƒฃ0๏ธโƒฃFor the past 20 years, we have worked alongside Peopleโ€™s Organizations (POs), civil society organizations, local governments, academic institutions, and the private sector to protect, conserve, and restore mangrove ecosystems across the country.

๐Ÿ’ชFrom supporting women-led mangrove management in Palawan and Negros Occidental, to supporting large-scale restoration and community stewardship in Sibuguey Bay, Zamboanga Sibugay, these partnerships demonstrate that healthy mangroves are built through science, community empowerment, collaboration, partnerships, and long-term commitment.

๐Ÿ‘‹Together, we can grow healthier mangrove forests and more resilient coastal communities!
