🎉 Big news! Build Change has been awarded a $250,000 grant from The Patrick J. McGovern Foundation to advance climate resilience using cutting-edge AI technology.
By 2030, 3 billion people — 40% of the world’s population — will be living in vulnerable housing. In the Philippines, the most disaster-prone country in the world, 85 million people live in vulnerable homes, risking their safety, livelihoods, and economic stability. Home-based businesses, which drive 34% of the country’s GDP, are severely impacted when homes are destroyed, disrupting lives and economies.
This grant fuels the development of a multilingual AI-powered chatbot within BCtap, our technical assistance platform. The chatbot will deliver actionable, “just-in-time feedback” to empower homeowners and builders to create resilient homes and protect livelihoods. Starting in the Philippines, this innovation will scale our proven solutions — resilient home improvement plans paired with accessible financing — to vulnerable communities worldwide.
When AI is developed with understanding and intention, we create space for radical change. 🌟 Together with the Patrcik J. McGovern Foundation, we’re redefining what’s possible for disaster resilience.
