Q: What is your stand on the general opposition from artists and cosplayers towards AI-generated "art"?

A: We are aware of the environmental and social impacts of the so-called "GenAI art", especially in the context of the PH cosplay community.

We see a few designers who use AI sparingly to illustrate "proofs of concept" or "visual representations" before coming up with the final, hand-drawn or hand-coded designs.

Our organization prefers commissioning artists who can draw on paper or on a digital tablet. If they can come up with designs that meet our standards, then we would not only commission them, but also feature them.

As for our tech stack, we are moving away from mainstream operating systems and photo editing programs that are now being associated with "AI slop", and towards more elegant, cost-effective, privacy-respecting, and organically creative tech solutions.

We do not only state our opposition to the massive use of "GenAI art" on social media, but we take it to the next level by making informed choices about the technologies that we use.

Q: When will you host your own event?

A: We are not an event organizer, and hosting events is not our forte. Instead, we partner with groups who organize events. We offer logistical, technical, monetary, and material support.

Japan Public Holidays 2026 🎌

Japan has 16 official national holidays in a regular year, and there are none in June or December.

🌸If you’re visiting Japan, this information will help you plan your trips more efficiently:

👉Most holidays are just one day but often turn into 3 to 4 day breaks. Japan gives substitute holidays if a holiday falls on Sunday, and has “bridge holidays” between two holidays.

👉In Japan, public holidays are often busy travel periods, especially Golden Week from late April to early May, which is the longest and most crowded holiday season.

👉Most tourist attractions such as museums and temples, along with shops and restaurants, stay open during these holidays.

👉In July and August, school summer holidays take place, and Obon also brings heavy traffic and large travel crowds.

✨Obon is a major celebration across Japan that isn’t an official holiday, yet it feels like the whole country is on break, and most employees still get about four days off.

💗If you plan to visit during the public holidays, make sure to book everything in advance and be ready for large crowds.
