142 Volunteers Unite for Day 1 of Brigada Eskwela 2026 at GNHS

GABU, June 1, 2026 – Gabu National High School successfully launched the first day of Brigada Eskwela 2026, mobilizing 142 volunteers from various sectors of the community in a collective effort to prepare the school for the opening of classes for School Year 2026–2027.

Guided by this year’s theme, “Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman,” the activity brought together teachers, parents, learners, alumni, barangay officials, civic organizations, 4Ps members, DPWH maintenance unit, and community stakeholders who contributed their time, effort, services, and resources to support the school’s readiness initiatives.

Volunteers actively participated in a range of activities, including classroom cleaning, campus-wide sanitation, minor repairs, vegetation trimming and pruning, waste segregation and disposal, and beautification projects. These initiatives aimed to create a clean, safe, and learner-friendly environment that promotes effective teaching and learning.

The remarkable turnout of volunteers on the opening day highlighted the community’s strong commitment to education and its shared responsibility in ensuring that learners are welcomed into a conducive and well-maintained school environment. The activity also strengthened partnerships among stakeholders, reinforcing the importance of collaboration in achieving educational goals.

In his message, Dr. Joseph C. Salvador, Head Teacher III, expressed gratitude to all volunteers and partners for their commitment and dedication to the success of Brigada Eskwela. He emphasized that the collective efforts of the community embody the true essence of bayanihan and contribute significantly to the continuous improvement of the school.

As Brigada Eskwela 2026 continues, Gabu National High School remains committed to strengthening stakeholder engagement and promoting a culture of volunteerism that supports quality, accessible, and inclusive education for all learners.

The successful conduct of Day 1 serves as a powerful reminder that when the community works together, schools become stronger, safer, and more responsive to the needs of every learner.

Panagyaman ken Panangidayaw ti Amin a Ina
(Poem for all mothers and those who played mother's role)

Saluadmi dagiti ina iti lubong,
dagiti nagannak ken nagbalin a nanang iti biagmi,
sika ti naridam nga agriing,
ken maudi nga aginnana tapno naimbag ti pamilya.

Saan laeng a nagannak ti maawagan nga ina,
no di pay dagiti lola, anti, manang, wenno tattao
a nangipadakkel ken nangayat a kas maysa nga ina.
Iti ayatda, adda bara iti ayat ken talna ti biag.

Idi ubingkami, sika ti agsursuro,
mangiturturong iti nasayaat a dalan.
No adda buteng ken ladingit,
sika ti pagkamangan iti pigsa ken raniag.

Awan ti kapadana nga sakripisiyo,
ta uray nabannog, agserbi kayo latta.
Iti tunggal ramramanmi a panagballigi,
Adda dagiti ima yo a nangitandudo iti biagmi.

Agyaman kami kadakayo amin nga ina,
Kadagiti naganak ken kadagiti nagbalin a ina iti puso,
ti ayatyo ken a**s ket saan a malipatan,
ta dakau ti pudno a pagsakduan ti adal ken gagar...
