𝑰𝑵 𝑷𝑯𝑶𝑻𝑶𝑺:

On 021330H May 2026, the CCDC ROTC Unit conducted its 15th Virtual Training Day for Basic ROTC Cadets under Military Science 2 (MS-2) through online instruction. The activity was conducted under the supervision of the Training Staff, led by LTC JEOFREY G CODIAMAT (INF) PA, ROTC Commandant.

The 15th Training Day was attended by 270 cadets and featured a lecture on Signal Communication, delivered by TSg Ruel M Verdejo (Inf) PA. During the lecture, cadets were taught the different types of signal communication used in military settings, including the fundamentals of tactical radio communication, the advantages and disadvantages of tactical radio sets, and numerical pronunciation. The activity contributed to the continuous development of the cadets’ military knowledge, discipline, and readiness despite the virtual setup. The activity was successfully conducted and ended at 1500H on the same day.

REGIONAL ANNUAL ADMINISTRATIVE AND TACTICAL INSPECTION (RAATI) 2026

On 19 April 2026, the Cordillera Career Development College ROTC Unit actively participated in the Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI) 2026, held at Benguet State University. During the event, the participating units showcased unwavering discipline, strong camaraderie, and exceptional tactical proficiency.

The Cadets of CCDC ROTC Unit demonstrated outstanding competence, particularly in Map Reading, where they achieved a perfect 100% rating in both the written and practical examinations. A total of 40 Basic Cadets were carefully selected and divided into two teams, 20 cadets took the written exam, while the other 20 performed the actual.

Together with the other ROTC Units the BSU ROTC Unit, UB ROTC Unit, and KCP ROTC Unit.They secured an impressive overall rating of 98.7% and claimed the 3rd Place in the RAATI 2026. This achievement is a clear reflection of effective leadership, strict discipline, and the spirit of unity strengthened by hard work and training. It proves that today’s youth are capable of rising as future leaders ready to serve with honor, excellence, and dedication.

𝐑𝐀𝐀𝐓𝐈 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 | 𝐁𝐒𝐔 𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐂𝐔 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭

On April 19, 2026, the Office of the Assistant Division Commander for Reserve Force Development (OADCRFD), led by COL Camilo A. Saddam of the 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, conducted the Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI) at Benguet State University ROTC Unit (BSU ROTCU), KM6, La Trinidad, Benguet.

The activity assessed the administrative efficiency and tactical proficiency of ROTC cadets to ensure operational readiness and excellence. It was attended by BSU officials, LGU representatives, partner agencies, NSTP directors, and personnel from the 1401st Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion.
The inspection was overseen by COL Oscar B. Balignasay Jr., Group Commander of 14RCDG, in coordination with the 1401st Community Defense Center.

BSU ROTCU once again proved its capability as a strong and competitive unit in the Cordillera Region—demonstrating discipline, competence, and commitment to nation-building.

On 181300 April 2026, Training Staff of CCDC ROTC Unit led by LTC JEOFREY G CODIAMAT (INF) PA, Commandant, facilitated the ROTC 13th Training Day for the 281 Basic ROTC Cadets (MS-2) of CCDC ROTC Unit.

At 1300H on the same day, the Basic ROTC Cadets had their formation for accounting and checking of attendance, followed by Drills and Ceremonies facilitated by TSg Ruel M Verdejo (Inf) PA, Tactical NCO, with the assistant of the Advance ROTC Cadet Officers and GMA, held at the Benguet State University Oval, Km 6 La Trinidad, Benguet. The activity ended at about 1700H on the same day.

𝘽𝙎𝙐 𝙍𝙊𝙏𝘾𝙐, 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧: On April 19, 2026, the Office of the Assistant Division Commander for Reserve Force Development (OADCRFD), led by Colonel Camilo A. Saddam, the Assistant Division Commander for Reserve Force Development of the 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army (5ID, PA), spearheaded the inspection in the Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI) of the Benguet State University (BSU) Reserve Officer Training Corps Unit (ROTCu) , held at KM6, La Trinidad, Benguet, to assess the administrative efficiency and tactical proficiency of the ROTC cadets, ensuring that they meet the high standards required for operational effectiveness and readiness.

The event was graced by key stakeholders and host school administrators from Benguet State University, Dr. Kenneth A. Laruan – the BSU President, represented by Dr. Jose M. Florentino, Vice President for Business Affairs; Ms. Angeline Bugtong - Executive VP, KCP and some faculty members; Representatives from Local Government Unit (LGU) of La Trinidad; and Partner Agencies. The activity also witnessed by BSU Students; BSU ROTCu Commandant; National Service Training Program (NSTP) Directors; Personnel from 1401st Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion (1401RRIBn); and other audiences.

The RAATI was personally overseen by Colonel Oscar B. Balignasay Jr., the Group Commander of the 14th Regional Community Defense Group (14RCDG) along with the 1401st Community Defense Center (1401CDC) who meticulously planned, prepared and executed the inspection in collaboration with Benguet State University (BSU) as a host learning institution.

As one of the competitive ROTC units in the Cordillera Region, the BSU ROTCU demonstrated exceptional capabilities, showcasing their administrative and tactical competencies, highlighting their proficiency in various skills acquired during training.

The 14th Regional Community Defense Group (14RCDG), Reserve Command, Philippine Army, under the leadership of COL OSCAR B BALIGNASAY JR INF (GSC) PA, successfully completed the Annual Physical Inventory for Calendar Year 2026 on April 15, 2026. The activity was facilitated by the 2nd Field Property Accountability Office (2FPAO), PAU, and held at Headquarters, 14RCDG, Sitio Bahawit, Poblacion West, Lagawe, Ifugao.

In line with management audit requirements, Ms Chastine Gail M Iglesia, Chief of 2FPAO and Head of the Inspection Team, delivered a lecture on Inventory Management and Property Accountability to all available personnel. The lecture highlighted the critical importance of proper maintenance procedures, which are essential in maintaining the functionality and longevity of equipment.

This initiative reflects the Group’s ongoing commitment to ensuring accountability, equipment readiness, and sustaining its operational capability and readiness to respond effectively to future missions.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | The 14th Regional Community Defense Group (14RCDG), Reserve Command, Philippine Army, recognized the exemplary service of its newly promoted personnel during the simultaneous donning of ranks highlighted in the Monday Flag-Raising Ceremony on 13 April 2026 at Headquarters, Sitio Bahawit, Poblacion West, Lagawe, Ifugao along with six (6) Community Defense Centers (CDCs) across the Cordillera Administrative Region.The activity was attended by Officers, Enlisted Personnel, Civilian Human Resources, Reservist and ROTC Cadets reflecting the unity and collective spirit of the organization. The pinning of ranks was led by 𝐂𝐎𝐋 𝐎𝐒𝐂𝐀𝐑 𝐁 𝐁𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐍𝐀𝐒𝐀𝐘 𝐉𝐑 𝐈𝐍𝐅 (𝐆𝐒𝐂) 𝐏𝐀, Group Commander of the 14RCDG, assisted by 𝐋𝐓𝐂 𝐑𝐎𝐁𝐄𝐑𝐓 𝐁 𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐘𝐀𝐎 𝐏𝐀 (𝐑𝐄𝐒), Battalion Commander of the 1404th (RRIBn), and Group Sergent Major.

A total of nine (9) enlisted personnel were promoted to the next higher grade and also formally welcomed two (2) newly assigned personnel MSg Jimmy G Sumopang (Inf) PA and SSG Joey D Domine (CE) PA whose experience and dedication are expected to enhance the unit’s operational readiness and leadership capability.

In his message, COL BALIGNASAY JR emphasized that the flag-raising ceremony symbolizes the organization’s shared values of duty, honor, and service, as well as the unity that binds all personnel. He noted that promotion is not only a recognition of past performance but also a call to greater responsibility and leadership grounded in integrity, humility, and accountability. He encouraged everyone to strive for excellence and work together, affirming that true strength lies in unity and in serving the nation with honor.

At 1300H on the same day, the Basic ROTC Cadets had their formation for accounting and checking of attendance, followed by Map Reading, lectured by TSg Normalito G Soriano (Inf) PA, held at the Benguet State University Open Gym, Km 6 La Trinidad, Benguet. The activity ended at about 1700H on the same day.

𝑰𝑵 𝑷𝑯𝑶𝑻𝑶𝑺:

On 09 April 2026, the Advance ROTC Cadet Officers of the Cordillera Career Development College ROTC Unit, actively participated in the 84th Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor) and Philippine Veterans’ Week celebration held at the La Trinidad Municipal Hall, Benguet. The event was conducted through LAKAD KALAYAAN 2026, carrying the theme: “Giting ng Bayani, Pamana sa Salinlahi.”

This meaningful occasion honored the bravery and sacrifices of our veterans and national heroes who fought for the freedom we cherish today. Their courage continues to inspire present and future generations, reminding us that our independence was achieved through unwavering dedication and selfless service.

The activity gathered various organizations and sectors, including representatives from the La Trinidad People’s Council, La Trinidad Women’s Brigade, La Trinidad Masonic Lodge No. 344, the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of the Philippines, the Veterans Federation of the Philippines (VFP), the VFP Sons and Daughters Association, Inc., EAPDATS (Municipal Scholars), and Mister and Miss La Trinidad 2026.

Also in attendance were the Joint Task Unit “Panagkakaysa” Baguio, the Benguet Police Provincial Office (BPPO), the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Criminology Interns, and notably the 1401st Community Defense Center (CDC), with the ROTC units from the University of Baguio (UB ROTC Unit), Kings College of the Philippines (KCP ROTC Unit), Benguet State University Main Campus (BSU ROTC Unit), and Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC ROTC Unit), participated under the guidance of LTC JEOFREY G CODIAMAT (INF) PA, Director of the 1401st Community Defense Center (CDC)

The program concluded with a 21-gun salute rendered by the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station—an esteemed military honor symbolizing deep respect and remembrance for our fallen heroes.
