On 221300 August 2026, Training Staff of CCDC ROTC Unit, led by COL EMMANUEL L DIASEN JR GSC (INF) PA, Commandant, facilitated the ROTC 2nd Training Day for the 243 Basic ROTC Cadets (MS-1) of CCDC ROTC Unit.

At about 1300H the same day, the Basic Cadets had their formation for accounting. TSg Cornelio P Cudli (AGS) PA, lectured about the Drills and Ceremonies 1, with the assistant of the Advance ROTC Cadet Officers, followed by Code of Citizenship and Ethics, lectured by Sgt Lea Mae D Buenafe PA (Res), held at JMM Hall, JMM Building, CCDC Compound, Western Buyagan, Poblacion, La Trinidad, Benguet. The activity ended at about 1700H in the same day.

On 151300 August 2026, Training Staff of CCDC ROTC Unit, led by COL EMMANUEL L DIASEN JR GSC (INF) PA, Commandant, facilitated the ROTC Orientation and ROTC 1st Training Day for the 217 Basic ROTC Cadets (MS-1) of CCDC ROTC Unit.

At about 1300H the same day, the Basic Cadets formed up for assembly, followed by an ROTC Orientation led by COL EMMANUEL L DIASEN JR GSC (INF) PA. Then Philippine Army Personnel from JTUP presented a video about the West Philippine Sea. After that, PCpl Faith F Forag PNP Personnel also from the JTUP and RMFB15, lectured on about Anti-Terrorism, held at JMM Hall, JMM Building, CCDC Compound, Western Buyagan, Poblacion, La Trinidad, Benguet. The activity ended at about 1700H in the same day.

BE A PART OF THE CORDILLERA CAREER DEVELOPMENT COLLEGE, RESERVE OFFICERS' TRAINING CORPS (ROTC)

WHAT IS ROTC?
The Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC)is designated to train, organize, and mobilize citizen for national defense preparedness (RA 9163). It is one of the three components of National Service Training Program.

The Basic ROTC is a 2-semester program consisting of 120 hours credited for six (6) units.Training conducted for 15 days normally during weekends.

WHY ROTC?
You will learned interesting lessons such as:
1. Patriotism, Leadership Development
2. Weapons Training and Familiarization
3. Basic Survival Techniques
4. Map Reading and Land Navigation
5. Disaster Prepadeness/Rescue and Reliefs Operations

WHAT HAPPEN AFTER ROTC?
After graduation from the ROTC, you will
be automatically incorporated into the
AFP Reserve Force or you may join the
Regular Force of the AFP.

Basic ROTC graduates become Enlisted
Reservist while the Advance ROTC and
Probationary Officer Training Course (POTC)
graduates become Reservist Officer and
can be called to active duty or ordered
to duty in the Regular Force.

The enrollment is still on going.

BAGUIO CITY โ€“ On 16 July 2026, COL EMMANUEL L. DIASEN JR, GSC (INF) PA, Director, 1401 Community Defense Center (1401CDC), attended the unveiling of the West Philippine Sea Mural Wall Painting with the theme, "Our Seas. Our Rights. Our Future." The activity was spearheaded by the 1st Civil Relations Group (1CRG), Civil-Military Operations Center (CMOC), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) under the leadership of 2LT MAY ROSE S. AVILES PAF, Deputy Commander, 1CRG, in partnership with the City Government of Baguio and the Creative Baguio City Council. Held at Happy Homes, Old Lucban, Baguio City, the event brought together Advance ROTC Cadet Officers and Reservist personnel from 1401st Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion, local government officials, artists, and community stakeholders in a symbolic celebration of patriotism, unity, and national awareness.

During the program, COL DIASEN JR participated in the ceremonial ribbon-cutting and delivered the welcome remarks, emphasizing the importance of preserving national identity and promoting public awareness of the country's maritime interests through meaningful community initiatives. The mural, made possible through the collaboration of the AFP, the City Government of Baguio, and the Creative Baguio City Council, serves as a visual representation of the Philippines' maritime heritage and the collective responsibility of every Filipino in safeguarding the nation's territorial integrity. Hon. Benjamin B. Magalong, City Mayor of Baguio, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor and Speaker (GOHAS), underscoring the value of strong partnerships between the military, local government, the creative sector, and the community in fostering patriotism and civic engagement.

The unveiling of the West Philippine Sea Mural Wall Painting reflects the continuing commitment of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the City Government of Baguio, the Creative Baguio City Council, and their partner stakeholders to strengthen public awareness through strategic civil-military and community-based initiatives. On May 16, 2026, the University of Baguio, Kings College of the Philippines, and Cordillera Career Development College, conducted the Joint Closing Ceremony for students who completed the Basic and Advance ROTC Cadets S.Y. 2025-2026.

The program began with the opening remarks, delivered by Dr. Sherry Junette M. Tagle PhD, School President of Cordillera Career Development College. The cadets were formally presented for completion by LTC JEOFREY G CODIAMAT (INF) PA, the CCDC and KCP Commandant and 2LT SUNSHINE A BUGTONG PA (RES), the UB Assistant Commandant. COL EMMANUEL L DIASEN JR, the Director of the 1401st CDC, officially confirmed the students completion and handed out their certificates, followed by the formal acceptance and oath-taking ceremony, led by LTC EDGAR H MADLAING PA (RES), Acting Commander of the 1401st RRlBn.

The main part of the event was the Special Message of Hon. Melchor D. Diclas M.D, the Guest of Honor and Speaker, delivered by Hon. David M. Cabuten, Executive Assistant II of the Provincial Government Office. Who encouraged the Basic and Advance ROTC Cadets, to uphold leadership, love for their country, and willingness to help others as they move forward in their studies and future careers.

The activity held at JMM Hall, JMM Building, CCDC Compound, Western Buyagan Poblacion, La Trinidad, Benguet. The activity ended at about 1500H on the same day.
