🌱🌏 𝑬𝒏𝒗𝒊𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒉 2026: 𝑻𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑨𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒂 𝑺𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝑭𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆🌏🌱

In celebration of Environment Month, the BS Environmental Science Interns of Benguet State University actively participated in various environmental activities conducted in partnership with different government agencies and organizations. These activities provided valuable opportunities to apply classroom knowledge in real-world environmental management and conservation efforts.

The interns engaged in tree planting, clean-up drives, road beautification, biodiversity assessment, QGIS mapping, information and education campaigns on solid waste management, and participation in the Environment Day Trade Fair. They also assisted in inspections of septic tank management systems, drainage canals, tributaries of the Balili River, solid waste treatment facilities, and Waste Analysis and Characterization Studies (WACS). In addition, they developed Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials promoting awareness on water pollution prevention, proper wastewater disposal, and watershed protection.

Through these meaningful activities, the interns demonstrated their commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development while gaining valuable experience as future environmental scientists.

Together, let us continue to protect, conserve, and restore our environment because every action counts toward a greener and more sustainable future. 💚♻️

The Young Environmentalists' Society proudly recognizes the remarkable accomplishments of our graduates whose dedication, resilience, and commitment to academic excellence have brought them to this significant milestone. This year, we celebrate the success of 45 graduates across three specialized fields of Environmental Science:

🌿 Environmental and Natural Resources Management (ENRM) – 22 graduates (48.9%)
🏙️ Urban Environmental Planning and Management (UEPM) – 18 graduates (40.0%)
🛡️ Environmental Risk Assessment and Management (ERAM) – 5 graduates (11.1%)

𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭-𝐀𝐢𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞🩸✨

𝙉𝙤𝙩 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙬𝙤 𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙙𝙖𝙮: Last April 15, 2026, the Young Environmentalists’ Society had successfully catered two important events in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, spearheaded by the YES’ Vice President for External Affairs, Ms. Samantha Ching To.

A day fulfilled with two different missions—Basic First-Aid Training & Blood Donation Drive. The event not only taught our students about the basics in saving lives, but it also encouraged them to know the importance of proper procedures in performing first-aids—in addition to that is the openness of students in saving lives through the donation of blood drive.

We thank everyone for their heartfelt participation and effort in helping us in making this event not only successful but meaningful.

𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐚 𝐰𝐫𝐚𝐩 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫! 🌍✨

From “Ano ba talaga kukunin ko?” to “Ahh okay… gets ko na!” real quick 😆 Today, our 2nd-year students got a clearer picture of what’s ahead as they step into their 3rd year—no more random guessing (hopefully 👀).

With all the insights, chika, and real-world experiences shared by our speakers, UEPM, ENRM, and ERAM are no longer just confusing acronyms—they’re now actual paths you can see yourself taking (finally!). 🌱

This seminar proved that choosing a specialization isn’t just about surviving the next semesters—it’s about finding where you fit, what you enjoy, and where you won’t cry too much during thesis season 😌📚

Shoutout to Sir Aldrin V. Baniaga, our speaker for Urban Environmental Planning and Management, who reminded us that with UEPM, we’ll be “traveling all around the world”… even if minsan nasa PPT lang muna 😆🌏

And of course, Dr. Romeo A. Gomez Jr., who spoke about Environmental and Natural Resources Management and Environmental Risk Assessment and Management, left us with a real talk moment—being in these fields means being mature enough to take responsibility for all our actions. No shortcuts, just accountability. 💯

A big thank you as well to our seniors and 4th-year students who shared their real-life experiences in their chosen specializations—the honest insights, struggles, and tips made everything feel more real and relatable. Kayo talaga yung “preview” ng future namin 👀✨
