small hands, big impact 🌱

Phase 2 of Project LOG Leave Only Green brought us to Brgy. Igtuble, Tubungan where learning met action. alongside the community, we conducted our Tree Planting in a Capsule session with the youth, sharing the basics of plant care, what to do and what to avoid, and introducing local plants with real medicinal value

more than a demo, it was a shared space for learning. one where knowledge is passed on, curiosity is encouraged, and care for the environment starts early

thank you to the barangay, the students, and everyone who showed up with energy and openness. this is how stewardship begins

we also extend our gratitude to our partners and supporters: Pop Lim for the snacks, Tubungan LGU for transportation, the Guide Association of Tubungan, Brgy. Igtuble, SACEO, CWL, and IMC for working with us to make this possible

from small hands to something that lasts. in August, we continue this work by growing a sustainable plant nursery for the community

while one team taught, another climbed ⛰️

deep in the trails of Mt. Lingguhob, a small team of USAMS Applicants worked alongside a local guide to install plant labels and document medicinal properties of species identified during Phase 1

each marker placed is a step toward making the trail more than a path. it becomes a learning space, where every passerby can understand what grows around them and why it matters

this mountain holds history. it is a trail once discovered and established by our alumni together with Kagawad Gilbert. being here, doing this work, is our way of continuing that legacy

Earth Day is a reminder that action starts with responsibility 🌏

We took a step back before we moved forward 🤝

Phase 1 of Project LOG Leave Only Green is complete. 🌱

In Brgy. Igtuble, Tubungan, our team worked alongside local officials, guides, and the community to understand the mountain before taking action.

This phase focused on real groundwork;
• documenting native and medicinal plants
• mapping their locations using GPS
• assessing trail conditions such as erosion, vegetation loss, and accessibility
• learning from local knowledge to guide our approach

This is where everything starts. Not just plans, but data and insight that will shape how we restore and protect the area in a way that lasts.

The impact goes beyond the trail. It builds awareness, strengthens community involvement, and creates a shared responsibility to care for the environment.

Phase 1 allowed us to understand the mountain.

This Sunday, we move into Phase 2. Tree Planting in a capsule, together with the community, along with plant labeling and eco trail rehabilitation.

and that’s a wrap for our community runs this school year 🏃‍♀️

big thank you to everyone who showed up today and to those who’ve been with us since the earlier runs 🤝 whether you came once or kept coming back, you really made the whole thing what it was 💗

somewhere along the way, this turned into more than just running, and that’s on all of you 🙂‍↕️ we started as random runners and somehow became a whole community… not bad tbh

this might be the last community run for this sy, but don’t get too comfortable 👀 we’ll be back… and you already know the next ones are gonna hit harder

This wasn't just about the runs we've shared, it was about the moments we carried with every stride.

Through every distance, quiet struggles, joint laughter, bursting energies, and steady paces, Gusting Strides became more than just a run club. It became a place, a rhythm, a community of people sharing the mindset of moving forward and growing stronger.

As Gusting Strides comes to a close for this school year, we invite you to our final 5km community run in collaboration with the Iloilo Mountaineering Club (IMC) and CPU Mountaineering Society (CPUMS). Let's take it slow, take it all in, and finish together.

lumipad ang aming team… sa Tubungan?

we’ve officially wrapped up Phase 1 of our PROJECT LOG: Leave Only Green 🤝

this phase focused on building the foundation — conducting site assessments, mapping out plants used for emergency and medicinal purposes, securing permits, and coordinating with LGUs, the IP community, and partner organizations. we also organized dedicated teams to ensure everything runs efficiently and safely once implementation begins.

at the core of this initiative is Project LOG: Leave Only Green 🌳

for every tree lost, we plant more in return. bringing greater growth and life back to the mountain while supporting long-term impact through reforestation, soil stability, and biodiversity recovery.

Phase 1 set the system in place.

Phase 2 is where we bring it to life — cleaner trails, more trees, and a more sustainable mountain for everyone.

stay tuned. this is just the beginning.
