Ifugao is heralded for the magnficent rice terraces that mingle with forest landscape. Hungduan in particular is recognized as a globally important agricultural heritage site for terraced rice farming.The ampitheatre-like terraces at Battad, Banaue is a favorite tourist destination and so are the sites in Mayaoyao and Asipulo. In sum, the ancient rice terraces have survived the ravages of time, protected by the customary Muyongs. Indeed, an indigenous watershed management system that inspires modern day initiatives.
