Kiwi have been digging around under our traps! Check out these holes made by a Kiwi looking for its dinner. 🍽️🪱🐛🪳🪰🍽️

This is why we make our traps, it's great to see these signs from the species we invented our traps to protect.
Thanks to Native Forest Restoration Trust at Patui reserve in Taranaki for the tour of their patch.

P.S. We developed our traps to be as safe as possible around wildlife - the ramp and lure are both designed to deter kiwi and other non-target species. ❌

30 VS 3! In Waikauri Bay their AT220s are averaging about 30 kills per year, versus 3 kills per year from the manual traps! And don't forget all that labour saved too.
Awesome work from the Takatu LandCare team ✨

Possums love to eat the flowers of cabbage trees, stopping them from reproducing. 🥀 Hopefully this old giant will get a chance to flower this year after an AT220 was installed at its base. 💐
This ancient and remarkably large cabbage tree is on the edge of a native bush section in Dunedin, which the owner is working to protect under a conservation covenant. The trap caught 6 possums in its first two weeks, and another 11 the month after. Awesome result! 💪🌱

📸 Thanks Lizzy Franklyn and Sanctuary for the photo!

🦇In the forests of Te Hoiere Marlborough, pekapeka-tou-roa / long-tailed bat mothers raise just a single pup each year.

Thanks to funding from the Top of the South Community Foundation, four AT220s have been installed directly around known maternity roosts to protect these precious bat mums and pups.

"The AT220 traps have been working exceptionally well for us, maintaining rat tracking indices below 5%. Without this technology, it would be extremely difficult, if not impossible, for us to achieve the same level of results." Lucie Daniskova, Forest and Bird Predator Control Officer.

And for the volunteers on the ground, the difference is clear:

"We've noticed a real shift since the AT220s went in, with the resetting traps being much more efficient than single set traps. They're working away all the time, even when we're not there, and it feels like we're finally putting consistent pressure on the problem areas."
— Budyong Hill, long-time volunteer in the Bat Recovery Program

This is exactly the mahi we invented our traps for, protecting precious species with innovative, self-resetting technology.

Since installing our self-resetting AT220 traps, Thames Coast Kiwi Care have caught over 1,000 possums and nearly 1,000 rats, with the first 27 AT220's installed catching 103 possums and 60 rats in a single month!🙀

Now the forest is regenerating without rats eating the seeds or possums eating the trees. Along with kiwi, the area is home to Hochstetter’s and Archey’s frogs and also nationally critical Pekapeka / long-tailed bats. 🦇
