🌳🌳New Zealand beech timber wanted for furniture and interiors

Innate Furniture is a Christchurch workshop making long-life furniture, benchtops and interior timber products from traceable New Zealand timber. We processed about 12 cubic metres of beech over the past year, but our usual supply lines on the West Coast have become limited.

We are currently looking to connect with farm foresters, landowners, sawmillers or other groups who may have traceable New Zealand beech available, either as logs, milled stock, or standing trees with an existing Sustainable Forest Management Plan/Permit. Ideal sizes are 100x50 or 150x50 for furniture components, plus 25mm for flooring and profiled products, but will consider all dimensions. We are interested in both small and large volumes, whether for one-off orders or, ideally, an ongoing collaborative supply relationship.

We are based in Christchurch and open to working with people from anywhere in New Zealand. You can read a good example of the relationships we are building on our website's materials page under Northland Tōtara. Feel free to email or call any time to discuss. Looking forward to that call!

🕵️‍♀️Seeking Farm Foresters to Share Their Climate Adaptation Experience.

I’m a Master’s student in Global Forestry currently completing my thesis at BSI (Scion), and I’m looking to speak with farm foresters across New Zealand about how they’re experiencing and responding to climate change.

My focus is on practical, on-the-ground approaches, from using different species to drought-tolerant planting and on understanding what helps or makes it harder to adapt.

If you’re open to a short 30 to 40 minute chat about your experiences, I’d be grateful to hear from you. You can reach me at [email protected] to take part or learn more.

Thank you very much for your support.
