Today was another Freshen Up for School... and our hearts are so full. 💙
Every time we hold one of these events, it feels a little bit magical.
Haircuts. Bikes. Books, kai, self care goody bags, smiles, laughter, and so many conversations. Most importantly, tamariki and rangatahi leave knowing that their community cares about them.
What's even more incredible is that this isn't a one-off.
For more than **five years**, our community has come together **four times every year** to make this happen. Every single event is made possible by an extraordinary group of partners, funders, volunteers, barbers, hair dressers, health providers, local businesses, and our amazing staff, who all give their time, skills, resources, and aroha so our young people can start each term feeling confident and cared for.
Watching everyone working side by side today was a reminder that no one organisation could do this alone. This is what community looks like. This is what happens when people show up for each other.
To every person and organisation who played a part today, thank you. Your generosity, kindness, and commitment have made a real difference to hundreds of local families over the years.
We never take it for granted.
Here's to another Freshen Up filled with smiles, connection, and the kind of magic that only happens when a community wraps itself around its children. ❤️
