Well end of an era for me.

After a good five years running this page, I am now bowing out & focussing on different priorities in my life.

Started with 126 followers and now there's 586 of you.

Thank you to my personal friends & others for your support of Warkworth Toastmasters. You have helped bring new visitors & Members to our Club.

Here's to being confident in the days to come, may they be worthy, free & spoken from the heart.

Also, apologies from me (Marion) I've off with the flu, but we as always have a hilarious Team of brilliant regulars for tonight! I'm just thankful I could still promote from the back of my trailer!

Great to hear our local Theatre friends are bringing tomatoes to throw in support haha.

However, I may have gotten all dressed up to practice my trailer reversing.

👮‍Cop by day 🤣 comedian by night, Sen. Constable Hamish Buick from Warkworth will argue that old age is NOT a blessing at The Great Comedy Debate (a fundraiser for Harbour Hospice) on 4 October at the Warkworth Town Hall. The well-loved community cop, who has dedicated 31 years of service to the community, first became involved in this very funny event 6 years ago when organiser Murray Chapman asked for a local police team to join the debate. "He thought we'd be boring and it would be an easy win for the Toastmasters but we trounced them!" he says.

🤣 This year his team mates are Murray and More FM Rodney 88.9's Nick Rado - and they're up against actual comedians Hoani Hotene, Jeremy Elwood & Lana Walters. Daunting to many, but he's up for the challenge, and his colleagues at the Warkworth Police Station back him. In fact, they reckon he just keeps getting funnier with age! ☀

We love meeting together every other monday night.

Gets us all being social, outside of our norm and expanding on each other's skill sets.

One great aspect to our Club, is the humour. Whether that be from a prepared speech or someone speaking off the cuff. Sometimes it's also having the freedom and safe place, to just laugh at yourself.

Either way, we have a good time and learn something new!
