WISE Charitable Trust

WISE Charitable Trust WISE Charitable Trust is not just a company that supplies and installs insulation.

Welcome to WISE Charitable Trust – creating employment opportunities through initiatives like home insulation, healthy homes, landcare, cleaning, and The Junction re-use shop. It is a community focused non-profit charitable trust delivering employment initiatives and insulating houses. In the year 2000 the trust expanded the operation to include an Insulation service which has developed over the

years into the main focus of the organisation. Since this time we have insulated well over 10,000 homes and created 300 jobs throughout the Taranaki region, and Rotorua. Another Service that stands us apart from other insulation companies is we provide Free No Obligation Insulation Assessments and the we are known for the quality of our workmanship.

Our healthy homes team has been a part of the Ready to rent programme facilitated by the Roderique Hope Emergency Housing Trust for many years and we're proud to continue supporting this kaupapa.

As part of the course, we deliver a session focused on creating warm, dry and healthy homes. We share practical tips around moisture, ventilation, heating and insulation, giving participants simple tools and knowledge they can put into practice in their homes.

Over the years, we've met heaps of people keen to learn, ask questions and build confidence as they navigate the rental market. It's been awesome to see participants leave with useful knowledge and a better understanding of what makes a healthy home.

We're stoked to keep playing our part in a programme that helps people feel more prepared for renting and better equipped to create healthy living spaces for themselves and their whānau.

Happy National Volunteer Day.

This week we're celebrating all the amazing volunteers who have been part of WISE and The Junction - Zero Waste Hub over the years, past and present.

Whether you've sorted donations, helped at events, worked in the garden, supported our community initiatives, shared your skills, or simply lent a hand when it was needed, thank you. Your time, energy and generosity have helped make a real difference in our community.

We're proud of what we've achieved together, and we're always excited to welcome new faces who want to make a difference alongside us.

If you've ever thought about getting involved, we'd love to hear from you. Every helping hand counts.

Thank you to all our volunteers, you are truly appreciated.

Sometimes a home can feel colder, damper, or harder to heat than it should, and it’s not always obvious why. Condensation on the windows, rooms that never seem to warm up, or a house that feels uncomfortable during the colder months can all be signs that something isn't quite right. Understanding what’s happening in your home is the first step towards improving it, and there are often practical solutions that can make a real difference. If you'd like to learn more about creating a warmer, healthier living environment for your whānau, our team is here to help.

If your home feels colder or damper than you'd like, it might be worth having a chat with us. Eligible whānau can access FREE Healthy Homes support, including practical resources to help make home a warmer and more comfortable place to be. Learn more and apply below.

Great pickup today for the Wise Charitable Trust remediation team.

A big thank you to ITM New Plymouth and Drapes and Blindz Direct for donating surplus materials. What might have gone to waste will now go toward helping people in our community with much-needed support.

Every load we collect helps make a real difference.

Our newest weather reporter has confirmed what many suspected…

It’s cold.
Still cold (and wet)
And tomorrow is expected to be cold again.

While we’re all reaching for warm socks, cosy blankets and winter pyjamas, we’re also thinking about local tamariki who may need a little extra warmth this season.

WISE’s Pyjama Drive is now underway, collecting new and gently used pyjamas to help keep children across Taranaki warm this winter.

Our HHI team recently travelled to Hāwera to connect with local services and share our kaupapa around warm, dry, healthy homes for whānau.

By supporting families to create healthier living environments, we can help parents taking steps toward bringing tamariki back home, while also supporting caregiving families to provide safe, warm homes for children in their care.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to build relationships, share knowledge, and be part of the support network helping keep whānau connected
