New Plymouth Model Railway Club

New Plymouth Model Railway Club We are a group of like minded persons who have built an HO Model Railway layout in a once rundown farm building.

The layout features our own railroad " Central Western" which uses the Fruit Salad scheme that still adorn some of the Kiwi Rail locomotives that currently operate on the New Zealand Railway system. Our layout is built on "L"Girder framework, we run mainly Atlas & Kato locomotives but still have some modified Athearn units running. The Club owns all of the Central Western locomotives running on th

e layout along with all of the rolling stock. We run Atlas track and Peco turnouts and we use Digitrax DCC as our control system.

Massive night at the clubs free running night. Many trains were out running, so plenty of pics and some videos to come. And yes there were a couple of opps moments, one which was very fast fixed before the camera could get a snap of it.

It's free running night, that doesn't mean that we normally pay for every circuit we do of the layout.
It just means we bring or use the club trains to do what ever we would like to run and operate.
Here's couple of locos that traveled some distance to be here running round the NPMRC.
Thanks Bill for the picture.
