WEEK 4 Reach, Aroha, Waitara High School

This week was all about Aroha, big word, looking at what it really means to care for and support one another.

​From some hilarious rounds of Egg, Chicken, Dino 🦖 to Paper planes learning about learning. We wrapped up with some awesome speed-sharing, creating a safe space for everyone to listen, connect, and keep it real.

He aroha whakatō, he aroha ka p**a mai.
Love planted, love received.

Kia ora Crew, Youth Week, Waitara High School ,

Youth Week is all about celebrating the young people of Aotearoa!
This year's theme, "Our Voices Matter, We Deserve To Be Heard," is a powerful reminder that the young people have so much to say and offer!!
Their experiences, perspectives, and voices deserve real space and acknowledgement so get loud!!

Remember you have a voice!!! And to the parents, whānau, and communities supporting them, thank you for listening it matters more than you know.

Taringa Whakarongo: The Waitara Voice

Our event, "Taringa Whakarongo: The Waitara Voice Festival," is a dynamic,multistation takeover from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
For taiohi aged 12 - 18.
Venue: 17 Grey Street, Knox Church Community Centre. Waitara.

Rather than a static audience, rangatahi move between high engagement hubs: Barbering, DJing, Songwriting, Cooking, and Visual Arts. We also feature dedicated spaces for Dance, cultural and Poetry.

The evening is designed as a "flow" where the skills practiced at the stations like a new beat, a verse, or a dance move can be shared during our Interactive
Open Mic in the second half of the night. with kai.

MEAN Mahi Last Night, had over 15 young people attend the Governance Training Workshop by The Wheelhouse ! It was awesome hearing their vision and impact they see for the trust, and the learnings they got from the workshop, bright future. Future

Week 3 - REACH, was all about Excellence Waitara High School ! 🤩 Students learned how a supportive culture fosters excellence, examined the barriers that prevent us from achieving it, and reflected on those in our lives who hold and support us in our journey to excellence.
