Crew FV D**g Won 530 enjoying the out door area at the Timaru Seafarers Welfare Centre.
D**g Won 530 is laying up for wet dock till the middle of November,
Crews from the D**g Won's have been great supporters of the centre over many many years.

Great to see the FV Takapo back in port today after its first trip with a hold full of fish. Coolpak doing the logistics...

All the team visited the Belle Chance this morning, it is discharging cement. The Captain explained to Matt the company procedures in place to ensure they have a happy ship. They really enjoy coming to New Zealand as they enjoy the opportunity to go ashore. This does not happen in most countries.
Great to hear the the Auckland International Seafarers Centre arranged for Father Mark to come on board so the crew could celebrate Mass during their stay there.
We left Pastor Sam on board, Sam I think is really enjoying the opportunity to assist with Seafarers Welfare.
Once again they enjoy the free wifi modem that we provide.

Second stop the Norse Yokoshima also discharging fertiliser. All Filipino crew so Pastor Sam felt right at home so I left him on board so maybe a new crew member ??đŸ˜€ I suspect he is enjoying a Filipino meal on board at the moment. Great crew and were very happy to have Sam visit.

Pastor Sam and I out ship visiting on a beautiful Timaru Morning. First stop Ikuchi Island discharging fertiliser. Chinese crew, new information, Sams Great Grandfathger was Chinese so had a lot in common with the all Chinese crew. Captain was heading home after 6 months at sea and we were able to assist him ashore.

A big thanks to Tim Daley and his team from Aoraki Landscaping. Tim was responsible for the outside work at our new Seafarers Welfare Centre, the benches, the fences, the brick wall and the basketball area.
Tim has made a generous donation to the South Canterbury Seafarers Welfare Fund.
Thanks Tim for giving something back.

Interesting name of a Tanker visiting Timaru Port. Siti "San Telmo" San Telmo was the Patron Saint of Seafarers and Fisherman. While walking the Camino to Santiago de Compostela in 2014 I came across the birthplace of San Telmo in Fromista in Spain.
I visited the ship and left them with the picture below. They were aware of the significance of the name
