Good Morning, what a lovely way to start a Friday with a delicious breakfast for Breast Cancer Awareness hosted by Roncalli College. We heard from two great speakers Sally Betts and Pam Allan both promoting the amazing work of Pink n Steel in the lives of post recovery survivors.

Zonta Timaru members regularly spread their efforts across our community. Did you know - from the days when the first refugees arrived in Timaru, some of our team have been there making a house into a home for each family 🌼⭐️💛. Quietly, respectfully and with welcoming care.

An exciting part of Zonta Timaru’s final meeting of the year was to award the Zonta Young Women In Leadership Award and $1,500 to Mavei Fleming, who has completed her secondary education at Roncalli College. President Diana Jordan made the presentation on behalf of the members.

Mavei has been Head Girl at the school, the Zonta Z Club President, has been the Rangitata Youth MP in 2025 and has been involved in many school and community initiatives.

Study in 2026 will be at Canterbury University with a double degree as the goal - a Bachelor of Law and also Arts, in Politics, Philosophy and Economics.

Mavei is a very deserving winner and Zonta Timaru congratulate her and wish her well for the future. We look forward to staying in contact to share her successes and life story. 👏🏻💛🌼💐
