A huge thank you to Skills Trades Training for hosting our recent BA5 event!

We had a fantastic evening learning about the valuable services and opportunities you provide to our local community.

A special thank you as well to ChamberWorks/MSD for sharing information about the Apprentice Boost initiative and how it can support eligible businesses with apprentices.

It was wonderful to connect with members, learn more about the support available to employers and apprentices, and enjoy an evening of networking and collaboration.

We're thrilled to see Chamber member Stacey from My Cashflow Ltd recognised with the Innovation Award at this year's AIM Conference.

Congratulations, Stacey, on this well-deserved achievement. It's fantastic to see local business leaders being recognised for thinking differently and creating real value for their clients.

Wahoo!! Stoked to take out the Innovation Award at the AIM Conference this year!! 🥳🏆

My AIM (haha, get it?! 😂) was always to create a firm that was completely different from the traditional accounting model.

I never wanted Manage My Cashflow to just be about numbers, tax returns and ticking boxes. I wanted to actually help business owners understand their numbers, feel confident making decisions and dream a bit bigger. ❤️

From embracing AI and new technology, to completely changing how I run advisory with my Business Breakthrough Sessions (because apparently making clients run around an outdoor maze is accounting now 😂), I’ve never been afraid to try something different.

To have that recognised with the Innovation Award is pretty bloody special, and I’m genuinely so stoked. 🥰

Still plenty more crazy ideas to come… maybe disrupting accounting isn’t such a bad thing after all! 😜💜🏆

Wellbeing is worth the conversation!

What does looking after your mental wellbeing actually look like?

Sometimes it’s taking time to CHILL.
Sometimes it’s finding something to DO that you enjoy.
Getting out and MOVING.
Making time to CONNECT.
Taking a moment to CELEBRATE the wins.
Or simply practising GRATITUDE for the good things around us, for others and especially ourselves.

These are the six pillars at the heart of Sir John Kirwan’s approach to mental wellbeing, and they were the focus of a powerful session hosted by the South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Westpac and Westpac Ambassador Sir John Kirwan.

We were fortunate to bring our business community together for an exclusive, honest and thought-provoking conversation about mental wellbeing and the simple, practical things we can all do to support ourselves, our colleagues, our families and our communities.

Because looking after mental wellbeing isn’t just something we talk about when things get tough. It’s something we can build into everyday life.

A huge thank you to Westpac for partnering with us to make this conversation possible, and to Sir John Kirwan for sharing his experience, insight and passion for helping New Zealanders have better conversations around mental wellbeing.

And perhaps the biggest takeaway? You don’t have to wait until you’re struggling to start looking after your wellbeing.

Sometimes, it’s the small steps that make the biggest difference.
