MYTH: My one vote doesn't count.

FACT: Elections can be incredibly close. In 2023, some local results were decided by fewer than 100 votes.

When people choose not to vote because they think it won't make a difference, those missed votes can end up being the difference.

Every vote counts. Every voice matters. Make sure you're enrolled and ready to have your say.

Child Safeguarding Week is a national campaign that brings people across Aotearoa together to help keep children safe.

At the Y, safeguarding is fundamental to who we are and how we work. Across New Zealand, many children and young people come through our doors every day. We acknowledge the trust that parents and caregivers place in our services and the staff that operate them.

But being a safe organisation doesn't happen by accident. We have a strong, and ongoing commitment to safeguarding, ensuring our policies, practices, training and culture uphold this commitment.
