McLaren Falls was the destination for our weekend adventure. A few showers didn't dampen our spirits as we played games, explored the park and ate burgers for dinner before heading off to see the waterfall and glow worms.

This week we reviewed what we learnt at the fire station last week and did a fire related experiment. Then we discussed the outdoor safety code and made our own outdoor safety code posters.

This week we were treated to a session at the Greerton Fire Station. We learnt fire science, were shown the fire trucks, squirted fire hoses, got shown how to carry injured people and learnt the importance of an escape plan. Thank you to the volunteers who gave up their time to show us around.

The Disaster Chef challenge is always a fun night. The girls have to create a two course meal from mystery ingredients. Problem solving, team work and time management skills are all put to the test.

We made the most of the calm evening and headed out for a night rowing session. Well done to all of the girls, especially those who hadn't rowed before.

Today we made the most of the awesome weather and had an opti sailing session. Some of our Mariners sailed solo for the first time - well done to you all!

National Regatta 2026 was hosted by Awataha Young Mariners at Lake Pupuke. We had so much fun over Easter weekend putting everything we had learnt over the last year into action.
