Congratulations to our Young Mariners who took part in Open Regatta at Martin's Bay over the weekend. We competed against six other Young Mariner units and one Sea Scout unit. Unfortunately the weather didn't allow for kayaking but we sailed, rowed and challenged ourselves with iron-person activities. Our girls gave it their best and had some fantastic results. Last week our Mariners took part in 'Mariners vs Wild'. There were multiple scenarios they had to work through including first aid, shelter building and prepping a fire. The Mariners had to figure out a good way to transport their injured patient - some stratagies were better than others!

For Winter Camp 2026 Tauranga and Franklin Young Mariners headed to Pirongia Forest Park Lodge for the weekend. We took part in team building activities, rock climbing, games, a Burma trail and a bush walk.

This week we were treated to a session at the Greerton Fire Station. We learnt fire science, were shown the fire trucks, squirted fire hoses, got shown how to carry injured people and learnt the importance of an escape plan. Thank you to the volunteers who gave up their time to show us around.
