Last night we celebrated the Gulf Harbour Community Trust Celebration Event.

Soo much hard work has been put into trying to keep and restore the Gulf Harbour Country Club land from going to ruin, and here you will see how much our effort's have paid off!

Between KWGS and GHCT members and associates, our local business's who have dedicated their time and machinery, plus the loyal volunteers, we prove that a community that bands together can truly enact positive action.

A few before and afters to show how much work has been put into this cause and keeping the community spirit alive and focused on saving the Gulf Harbour Country Club and keeping it a green space.

Another GHCC Volunteer day completed.

We were spread out over a few holes between mowing and pest plant removal, hit a few gorse patches too 😖

Great to catch up afterwards with these amazing volunteers (some loyal followers too)!

We are always open to more volunteers (just saying) 😉. This is an ongoing battle to keep everything under control!

As the final votes have wrapped up now, we feel privileged to announce that we received over 10,000 Ticks for Hibiscus People First!

Your support during and after the campaign has been heart-warming especially for such a new team to enter in on such short notice!

It's very disappointing to see thousands of special votes dumped especially given the Coast had a high voter return 🙁 but onwards and upwards from here.

Thank you again for your ongoing support and we will continue to do our best for the community 🙂

Yesterday, we took down all our signs — and to be honest, it was emotional. It marked the closing chapter of what has been an incredible campaign.

Voting closes at midday today, so there’s still time to pop into your local supermarket or library and cast your vote.

We want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout this campaign. There’s so much more to running than you might think — and we’ve truly loved every minute of it.

We’ve walked the walk:
📮 Delivered thousands of brochures across the coast
🤝 Met and talked with locals, listened to your concerns
🎤 Attended candidate meetings
📢 Put up (and taken down!) our billboards
🌦 Stood in the sun, wind and rain holding our signs
💬 Addressed local issues and answered countless questions

And so much more.

We feel incredibly proud and humbled to have met so many amazing people along the way who’ve supported us in this journey.

Finally, we wish the very best of luck to all candidates standing in the local elections.

Saving Orewa Beach Reserve open space

We support the call of Orewa Reserve Community Association and locals to retain the current reserve and all its facilities by quickly and inexpensively constructing a rock revetment wall along this part of the beach (retaining Norfolk pines, basketball and volleyball courts, playground and existing parking).

“The community have made their views clear - it’s time for a new local board to act on their behalf.” Vote Hibiscus People First and Putting People First
