The lovely team at Baptist Church Whangaparāoa are putting on a FREE morning of family fun at Whangaparāoa Primary School on Sunday 11 October, 10am–1pm. 🥳

There’ll be hot chips, sausages, candy floss, bouncy castles and plenty more, basically, everything you need for a morning of fun with the kids! 🙌

It’s a great chance to get outside, meet other local families, have a laugh and enjoy a bit of good old-fashioned community spirit. ❤️

🧺 WASH. FOLD. CELEBRATE. 🎉

A big shout-out to the awesome team at Laundromat Co in Orewa! ❤️

Every month they help us wash and fold the mountain of linen that comes with our community meals.... tea towels, aprons, dishcloths, and tablecloths too!

Their support means our volunteers can spend less time wrestling with laundry and more time doing what we do best - feeding our community. 🥰

And now it’s time to return the favour…

🎂 The Laundromat Co is turning ONE! 🎂

On Friday 10 October, from 7am–8:30pm, their washing machines are FREE ALL DAY! Yep. FREE. 🧺🙌

And because no birthday is complete without food, there’ll be party eats too! 🎉

So gather up that mountain of washing you’ve been avoiding, head down and help these awesome locals celebrate their first birthday.

🥧 PIE-LOVE ALERT! ❤️

A massive shout-out to our mates at Dad's Pies, who generously donate HUNDREDS of their award-winning pies to Love Soup every single month! 🙌

That’s a whole lot of pastry-powered kindness and it means a whole lot to the people and whānau we support. ❤️

Dad’s Pies started way back in 1981, in a tiny little pie shop in Red Beach, feeding hungry beachgoers with pies and ice creams. Fast forward 45 years and they’ve gone from one pint-sized pie shop to a nationally loved Kiwi brand employing more than 150 people.

But here’s the bit we love most: they’ve never forgotten the importance of feeding people well.

And these days, some of their famous pies make their way from Dad’s ovens to Love Soup and then onto the plates of people who really need them.

Thank you, Dad’s Pies! 🥧❤️

Before you chuck food because it’s past its Best Before date, stop and check!

Best Before is about quality, not safety. So use the tools you already have:

👀 LOOK – any mould, unusual colour or texture?
👃 SMELL – does it smell as it should?
👅 TASTE – if it looks and smells fine, try a small taste.

And remember: Use By = safety. Best Before = quality.

That little check could save perfectly good food from the bin — and save you money too! 🙌
