Love Soup is a not-for-profit registered charity and began in July 2013. Love Soup is helping in various areas around the North Island. Our key focus is:

Food Rescue โ€“ Collecting and redistributing food that is still good, helping people, creating meals, delivering to organisations and avoiding food going to landfill

Community Garden โ€“ they have created a community garden to grow their own vegetables to use in their community meals

๐Ÿ’› Community kindness in action ๐Ÿ’›

A huge thank you to the amazing team at F45 Training in Whangaparฤoa for being regular supporters of Love Soup and for recently rallying their members to donate non-perishable food items for our community ๐Ÿ™Œ

As the weather gets colder and the cost of living continues to bite, these donations make such a real difference. Pantry staples and shelf-stable items are always incredibly well received and help us provide practical support to people doing it tough.

To everyone who added an extra item to their shop and dropped it in - thank you. Your generosity helps us keep good food flowing to those who need it mostโค๏ธ

Itโ€™s partnerships and community spirit like this that remind us weโ€™re stronger together.

Change of Format for our Community Dinners at Whangaparaoa Hall

Please enter through the side door and take a seat in the main hall from 4.30pm. Dinner will be served after the Karakia. We ask that you clear away your dishes and rubbish once you've finished eating as a sign of respect for our volunteers who stay to clean up.

From 4.45pm, our koha tables โ€” clothes, toys, books, linen, and kitchenware โ€” will be in the supper room, with food offerings at the front of the stage. Please bring your own shopping bags.

We're aiming to create a calm, welcoming space where everyone can enjoy their meal safely. ๐Ÿ’›

๐ŸŽ‰ THIS WEEK LOVE SOUP TURNS 10! ๐ŸŽ‰

Ten years ago, Love Soup began with Julie King's simple belief: good food should never go to waste while people in our community are going without.

Today, weโ€™re celebrating a decade of connection, generosity, and community impact - and what a journey it has been โค๏ธ

Every single week our incredible volunteer team:
๐Ÿฅ• Rescues 2.5+ tonnes of food
๐Ÿš› Completes 63 food pickups across the Coast
๐Ÿ™Œ Delivers support through 55+ dedicated volunteers
๐Ÿ  Keeps 13 community food pantries stocked daily

Each year that adds up to:
โ™ป๏ธ 130 tonnes of food rescued from landfill
๐ŸŒ 343+ tonnes of COโ‚‚ emissions avoided
๐Ÿ“ฆ 6,635 food parcels provided
๐Ÿฝ๏ธ 183,375 meals created
โค๏ธ 20,375 individuals supported
๐Ÿšš 3,400 food pickups completed annually

But this isnโ€™t just about numbers.

Itโ€™s about families feeling supported.
Itโ€™s about community dinners shared.
Itโ€™s about neighbours helping neighbours.

And none of this happens without the generosity of our local supermarkets, 4 Square stores, petrol stations, bakeries, Mighty Ape, local businesses, schools, groups, and individuals who continue to back our mission.

To every volunteer, donor, partner, supporter and person who has been part of our first 10 years:

Thank you. You are Love Soup.

Hereโ€™s to the next decade of reducing waste, feeding people, and strengthening our community - together ๐Ÿงก

๐Ÿฝ Every third Sunday of the month, our team of volunteers prepares a hot community meal - and you're invited! This month is extra special, with our regular volunteer, Trevor, heading the kitchen as he and the team prepare an Indian feast (there'll be non-Indian food too).

Join Love Soup on Sunday, 21st June from 4:30PM at the Whangaparaoa Hall, 717 Whangaparaoa Road.

๐ŸŒŸ Enjoy a hearty, homemade meal made with love and care.
๐ŸŒŸ Visit our Koha table and take anything you need to support your home and family.

This event is all about togetherness, kindness, and community. Bring your friends, family, and anyone who could use a hot meal and a welcoming space.

We can't wait to see you there and share this special time together. ๐Ÿ’•
