Police continue to take a dim view on threatening or violent behaviour at bus stops on the North Shore.

At the weekend, we received a report of young people making threats and stealing shoes off two members of the public at the Albany Bus Station.

All three young males fled on a bus.

This bus was stopped nearby by a frontline unit, and all three males were arrested.

A 15-year-old male has been charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, and he is before the North Shore District Court.

Both pairs of shoes have been recovered.

Waitematā East Area Commander Inspector Aron McKeown says the behaviour is unacceptable.

“We have no tolerance for this behaviour, and we will continue to hold offenders to account,” he says.

“Our staff will continue to be visible across the busway network, and we ask people to continue reporting offending so we can respond.”

Hi everyone,

I’m posting to see if there were any witnesses to an incident at Silverdale Bus Station on Friday afternoon, around 4:25pm.

From what has been shared, there was a large group of teenagers present, with one teenager being attacked. It may have started as one-on-one and then became two-on-one. A large kitchen knife was also seen on the ground.

An adult stepped in to help break it up before needing to get on the next bus, and another adult also came over to assist. Police were later seen at the bus station, and the incident has now been reported to both 105 and Auckland Transport. Police did attend the scene.

If you witnessed anything, have any information, or were in the area at the time, please report it to the Police via 105. Even small details can help, especially if police are reviewing CCTV.

I’m not looking for names to be posted publicly or for any speculation in the comments — just hoping anyone who saw what happened can pass information on to the police.

Case number- OR-2640373N

Thank you.

Kia ora everyone,

It’s been a little quiet on the page lately, but I know that doesn’t mean incidents have stopped.

What I’m hearing more and more is that people are choosing not to report — whether that’s because it feels too hard, too public, or you’re not sure anything will come from it.

I completely understand that.

So just a reminder of what this page is here for 👇

• You can message me privately
• You can stay completely anonymous
• You don’t need names or perfect details
• Even small incidents help build the bigger picture

This page isn’t about calling people out — it’s about building a clear, honest picture of what’s actually happening so we can push for better safety for our kids.

If something didn’t feel right on a bus, at a stop, or travelling to and from — I want to know.

No pressure, no judgement — just a safe place to share.

Kia pai tō rā

A very similar experience to what I found when I requested data from Auckland Transport. The information simply isn’t there.

I believe part of the issue is that many incidents are not being reported, and when they are, they are not always recorded in enough detail to understand what is actually happening across the network.

Without clear reporting and accurate data, it becomes very difficult to identify patterns, problem routes, or areas where safety improvements are needed.

Public transport should be safe for everyone. Understanding the scale of the problem is the first step toward fixing it.

A father has accused Auckland Transport (AT) of major failures around passenger safety after his daughter and her friends were left bloody and bruised in a
