Comcol North Canterbury was pleased to be part of the Grow & Tell trail, on Sunday 22 March, which was designed to provide an authentic look at local food resilience. It was a picture-perfect day and great to have so many of the public coming through to see what our staff and students have created. Thank you to Food Secure North Canterbury for organising the event. We are always happy to share what we have, so if you or someone you know would like to take a look around, let us know. 🙂

Gillian Hall | Trailblazers – Paralympics New Zealand

Gilly Hall (late wife of Comcol Director Tony Hall) played a significant role in the early years of Comcol (Community Colleges) supporting Tony and staff, particularly in our sport programmes. Gilly was also passionate about developing a pathway for disabled people to discover the freedom and joy of skiing. Just before the start of the 2026 Winter Paralympics, Paralympics New Zealand put together a tribute to Gilly and her remarkable legacy. This was filmed recently at Tony’s home in Waikuku.
Paralympics New Zealand - Nobody has made a more significant contribution to the sport of Para alpine skiing in Aotearoa New Zealand than the late Gillian Hall QSM. Through the voice of her husband, Tony, her daughter, Anna, and others in the snow sports community, we reflect on her extraordinary influence.
Please click on the link to hear Gilly’s story.
