Rachel’s House Trust, based in Rangiora, North Canterbury, South Island, New Zealand is a Non Profit and Non Government Service that is committed to the support of young parents, helping them to birth and parent their babies. Why
In North Canterbury, many young women are facing unplanned pregnancies. They have significant, life impacting, decisions to make, often with little information or support

in which to make them. Mission
We aim to be a visible, approachable ministry that is equipped to provide practical help, advice and other material needs. Rachel’s Trust offers shelter and a safe, empowering environment where these young vulnerable women can plan for their future with their babies. Ministry
Rachel’s House Trust is a ministry to pregnant teens offering accommodation, access to midwifery, social work, counselling, peer support, scholarships, education/vocational training, practical help and long term aftercare. Commitment
We are committed to providing a wrap around service for the mums-to-be, (incorporating fathers wherever possible) equipping them to be able to meet the needs of their babies.

Are you a first-time parent? Have you recently welcomed, or are you soon welcoming, a pēpi born between April 2026 and July 2026?
We’d love you to join our next 20-week SPACE programme, held on Thursday afternoons during term time.

At Rachel’s House, we create a warm, welcoming place for new parents to connect and feel supported. Each week, we explore topics around baby development, chat about the highs and lows of parenting, enjoy developmentally appropriate play, music, and a shared story, all alongside a delicious afternoon tea.

SPACE is a wonderful way to:
🌼 Build friendships with other new parents
🌼 Learn more about your baby’s growth and development
🌼 Share experiences in a safe, supportive environment
🌼 Enjoy time to slow down and bond with your pēpi

If you’re looking to build your village, this is a beautiful place to start.
Registrations now open for our July 2026 intake. Spaces are limited so be in quick!

We are incredibly grateful to Rātā Foundation for their recent funding grant towards our operational costs.

This support helps us continue providing a safe, welcoming space for mothers & whānau in our community and ensures the ongoing delivery of the programmes, support, and connections that make a difference to local families every day.

Thank you for believing in the work we do and for helping us continue supporting North Canterbury whānau.

Have you recently welcomed a new pēpi under 4 months old and are looking for connection, support, and a safe place to land each week?

Our SPACE course at Rachel’s House Trust is a gentle, welcoming programme created especially for parents in those early newborn months.
Each week we come together to:
🤍 Connect with other parents of young babies
🍼 Learn about baby development and the early parenting journey
☕ Share openly in a supportive space (with a yummy afternoon tea)
🤝 Build confidence and community, you don’t have to do this alone

Here’s what past participants have said about SPACE:
💬 “I enjoyed meeting new Mums and being able to chat freely about anything.”
💬 “There is a real sense of ‘family’ at SPACE.”

At Rachel’s House, we believe every parent deserves support, especially in those early weeks. SPACE offers a calm, nurturing environment where both you and your baby are welcome just as you are
