Creative Fibre Auckland is one of the largest and most active chapters of Creative Fibre New Zealand, with 18 groups throughout the area, holding day and evening meetings. It brings together spinners, weavers, knitters, dyers, flax workers, felters, crocheters, free-form fibre artists and all other people involved in the use of fibre. Being a member of our organisation is being part of a living heritage of keeping crafts alive. We have over 3,000 members throughout New Zealand and around the world whose passion is fibrecrafts, learning from people with similar ideas and enjoying their friendship. There are 15 Creative Fibre Areas around New Zealand, each with an Area Delegate and committee that includes representatives from the groups in the area. Each area is autonomous so their activities vary, but all provide interest and activities such as workshops, retreats, spin-ins and exhibitions. We offer a full education programme including a self-directed learning scheme, study collections which travel the country to inspire and educate members, workshops, lectures and correspondence courses.

Ashford Joy 2 double treadle, folding spinning wheel
This wheel was bought new from Ashford around 2012 and is still in excellent condition. A replacement drive cord has recently been fitted.
For sale on behalf from a deceased estate.
The Joy 2 provides the benefit of a folding mechanism for easy transport with a padded factory travel bag. The design is twin treadle to provide a much smoother action and comes with 4 speed ratios, 3 x sliding hook flyer bobbins, built-in Lazy Kate, wooden threading hook, and Learn to Spin booklet.
A new Joy 2 wheel is around $1,000 from Ashford or The Ribbon Rose. Asking $550.00.
Wheel is in Orewa and you are welcome to view, and test drive, it there. Or alternatively can be viewed at the Brightside Spin In on Sunday 27 September.

We all had a wonderful day at Auckland's Woolfest Aftermath educational day.
Huge Thank You to our beautiful Tutors who shared their skills and knowledge. Many happy participants left with big smiles.

Now on to our next educational event Spring Festival.

We look forward to seeing many of you at the Albany group's upcoming Spin In on July 4th.

For those who do not know what a 'Spin In' is, it is a fun day of crafting. Bring along your spinning, knitting, crochet, weaving etc projects and sit, craft and chat with fellow crafters.

There will be fabulous traders to tempt you. Raffles and spot prizes. Bring your lunch or pop across the road to the great bakery to pick up some yummy food and coffee. Morning tea provided.

Hope to see you there - $5.00 door charge to cover hall hire.

Have you booked your space in one of the workshops in our upcoming Woolfest Aftermath yet?

As we do not have space to run workshops on the day at Woolfest we host a follow up day of heavily subsidised workshops. Come and learn a new skill, or update an existing one for an amazing price. There is also always lots of space for crafters to come along and sit and enjoy the company of others over a cuppa, a few traders and la ocal bakery and cafe to get a yummy lunch.
