The Spirit of ANZAC was our theme tonight.

The speeches were really touching and honestly quite inspiring. You could feel the meaning behind each one, especially tying back to what ANZAC truly represents.

Word of the Day was Gallantry: showing bravery, courage, and honour, especially in difficult moments .Which fit perfectly with the vibe of the night.

A great turnout this evening at Franklin Toastmasters.

Nick opened the meeting and set the scene for the night. It’s always impressive to see the effort and contribution from everyone who takes on a role — each one plays an important part in making the evening run smoothly.

We had two speeches — one exploring communicationFranklin Toastmasters # # styles, another debating invasive species — followed by a panel discussion that kept us all engaged.

Welcome back to Franklin Toastmasters!

Last Monday, we kicked off our first meeting of the year—and what a great way to start! It was a beautiful evening filled with new guests and familiar faces, all coming together to make the meeting a truly memorable experience.

As we move into December, it’s the perfect time to pause and reflect on our milestones, achievements, and the things we’re grateful for. One of those blessings this year has been the number of new members who joined Franklin Toastmasters, and the joy of seeing those same faces—along with new ones—return each fortnight.

With every meeting, we’re reminded that Toastmasters is more than personal development or polished communication skills. It’s a space where like-minded people come together—people who are passionate, thoughtful, encouraging, and supportive.

And that sense of connection is exactly what makes Franklin Toastmasters so special.

As we take a short break over Christmas, I’d like to leave you with a thought:
