Bellyful Hawke's Bay

Bellyful Hawke's Bay Bellyful nourishes and connects communities by cooking and delivering free meals to whānau, with babies or young children, who need support.

Refer a whānau or yourself here: www.bellyful.org.nz/bellyful-branches/hawkesbay/ Our aim is to encourage whānau to accept help and support from their local community - just like our grandparents did! Parenting is hard work, so why not take all the help that’s offered? Let’s all help each other out and build a stronger community in the process. You can help us fill bellies by making a donation: bellyful.org.nz/donate-now/

National Volunteer Week 🩷

Some of our volunteers share why they think someone else should consider volunteering for Bellyful HB.

Have you ever thought about volunteering?

Our volunteers often tell us that volunteering with Bellyful Hawke's Bay is one of the most rewarding things they do. Not only are they helping local whānau through challenging times, but they're also making new connections, learning new skills, and becoming part of a supportive and welcoming community.

Whether you can spare a few hours each month to cook, deliver meals, help at events, or support us behind the scenes, every contribution makes a real difference.

If you're looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community, we'd love to hear from you.

National Volunteer Week (Te Wiki Tūao ā-Motu) in Aotearoa New Zealand runs from June 14 to June 20, aligning with the United Nations' International Year of the Volunteer. This year's theme, "Your Year to Volunteer – Tōu tau ki te tūao," celebrates the millions of Kiwis who donate their time and energy to communities.

The reasons our volunteers choose to volunteer for Bellyful Hawke's Bay are as varied as the amazing people who make up our team.

Some volunteer because they want to give back to their community. Others have received support themselves and want to help others in the same way. Some are looking to meet new people, learn new skills, or be part of something meaningful.

What they all have in common is a desire to make a difference.

Every meal cooked, delivered, packed, coordinated is made possible by our incredible volunteers. Their generosity, compassion, and commitment help us support local whānau with babies or young children, when they need it most.

This National Volunteer Week, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to every single one of our volunteers. You are the heart of Bellyful Hawke's Bay, and we simply couldn't do what we do without you 🩷

Delivery Volunteers wanted for Hastings areas.

Delivery volunteers are the face of Bellyful and we need you!

Working with your Recipient Coordinator, you will collect and deliver our frozen meals to the whānau who need them.

All you need is a vehicle (or even a bike would work), a driver’s licence, the ability to find your way around your community – and of course a friendly face!

The time commitment for a delivery volunteer is entirely up to you and what you can give.

If you have any questions please e-mail [email protected] or register your interest through the link https://bellyful.org.nz/become-a-volunteer/ See less

Still buzzing from Bellyful Hui 2026 in Ōtautahi Christchurch.

Our team came home with full hearts, fresh ideas, new connections and a big reminder that we are part of something pretty special.

A huge thank you to Wright Family Foundation for helping make Hui possible for our Bellyful whānau.

We are also so grateful to Pub Charity Limited for supporting our branch with travel and accommodation, helping us be there in person.

We can’t wait to bring that Hui energy home and keep nourishing whānau in our community.

Ngā mihi nui.

🩷 On Wednesday evening, our volunteers made 256 meals 🩷

Our Bellyful cookathons are a beautiful example of what community, kindness, and compassion look like in action. 💛

Every meal cooked is more than just food — it’s comfort for families doing it tough, support during overwhelming times, and a reminder that they are not alone.

From the volunteers who give up their time, to the people who donate ingredients, wash dishes, package meals, and share laughs around the kitchen — every single person makes a difference.

Together, we’re filling freezers and hearts at the same time. Thank you to everyone who continues to support Bellyful and help us care for families in our community. 🍝✨

🩷 Happy Mother’s Day 🩷

Today, we celebrate all the incredible mums, māmā, and mother figures in our community — the ones who give so much of themselves every single day.

At Bellyful HB, we see firsthand how powerful a little extra support can be. For many mums, a delivered meal is more than just food — it’s a moment to pause, breathe, and feel cared for during what can be a really demanding time. 🥘✨

To every mum doing her best (especially on the tough days), we see you and we’re here for you. You are not alone. 💛

And to our amazing volunteers who help make that support possible — thank you for sharing your time, kindness, and aroha with local whānau.

If you or a whānau you know has a baby or young children and could use some extra support, you can make a referral here: 🔗 bellyful.org.nz/bellyful-branches/hawkes-bay/
