It’s our last Friday of the month this week which means the SurfDeck bar is open from 4pm-8.30pm. Come on down and enjoy a quiet drink, a pot luck pie 🥧 and because it’s Winter either a Guinness or a glass of Pinot Noir. See you on Friday.

Hello Tauranga community. Our green rescue tube has either been removed or re located by someone yesterday. I have taken a picture of it in case you have seen it around. If you have seen this tube (picture 3) around could you kindly return it back to the clubhouse. No judgments, we just want it back so we can provide the community an option if someone was to get in trouble in the water. Thank you

Congratulations to our new 11 IRB crewman who last weekend completed their practical component. All 11 Omanu members passed! Special thanks to Instructors Donal Boyle and Maddie Todd whose expertise got them through. Also thanks to Haven Bellamy who was examiner on the day. These 11 members will be able to assist in any potential rescues next season using the IRB.

Come sign for tomorrow’s Fit Nation fundraiser walk. We here at the club tip 6pm tonight. Also taking registrations tomorrow morning from 7am onwards. Our walk starts at 8am.

It’s all on this Saturday 2nd May. All proceeds raised go directly back to Omanu Beach SLSC. You can also register in person at the club this Friday 1st May between 4pm-6pm and at the club on the day at 7am before the walk starts. Let’s get involved everyone

Great day out today, getting prepared for the IRB crewman’s award. 11 of our members are now ready to sit the final theory to achieve this award. Pat on the back to our club instructors Donal, Maddie, Tod and Roisin. Fantastic.

Yesterday we celebrated our lifeguarding and sporting seasons, recognising and honouring a number of our outstanding members.

It was a fantastic afternoon filled with great laughs and a wonderful opportunity to come together as a club and celebrate our people.

Our Omanu Open Men's crew on the way to winning the Short Course race at Nationals in Ohope 2026.

They also won the long course race, completing the rare double of both short and long course races at the same Nationals.

This is awesome to watch and a great insight to boat rowing.
